Call for Authors
We are still asking for three sentence reviews as well as articles on Trails! A new opportunity, is to write a short humorous subheading for the Main title of this page. We are starting to get some readership, so you might get some followers if your name is seen more widely. And, of course, the help is appreciated.
Three Two Sentence Review
"Desire....and for a moment I thought I loved her" by @johnjgeddes : This tale is a heartfelt and compelling glimpse into the challenging emotions that come when there is unexplained attraction between two people. The author weaves a tense dance between the main characters in an exploration of longing and their mysterious, possibly mystical, connection.

Why should you care?
What is your connection to the quality of the articles, stories and artwork you create, share or vote on at Steemit? There is a simple statement I use to describe how cryptocurrency works to people who don't want to know all the details of security etc. It is this:
Value is the difference between how hard something is to get and how much someone wants it.
For a while it was hard to get Steem and people really wanted to get it. The value was high, artificially high, and a lot of people made a lot of money.
You may be wondering, why I say it was hard to get - that's because very few people knew about it. It was relatively easy for those in the know, but very difficult for everyone else. That's why I say the value was artificial, it was created by a lack of information. As more people came to know about Steemit, and write articles, it became easier for more people to get it, while the desire for it shrank somewhat as the price went down.
That's where we are right now. Articles which would sell for hundreds of dollars in other media are getting just a few steem on steemit. Those who have done the difficult thing of attracting Whales, get much more, but the value is low. Anyone can get some Steem, just write a "What's in my Pocket" quiz and you will get some. That's what is keeping the value low. That's why nobody wants it very much.
It's easy to get and the desire to have it is low
We can make Steem harder to get. Don't vote on crap. Don't vote just to win a prize. Vote when you see someone put in some effort, the kind of effort that will make outside people think, "What's going on over there, people are writing decent articles."
If people find it hard to get Steem, because we insist on quality, they will want it more (see above) and the value will rise.
All that steem power you've been saving up for voting power?... suddenly a fortune. Think about that, I have about $400 worth of SP, but if the value of steem triples, that's $1200 instead, an increase of $800 without me having to do anything but vote for quality.
If we have people fighting over our votes by struggling to produce higher quality articles (instead of posting porn you can already get free from the internet), that number is easily within our reach. Make your vote hard to get, so that people desire it more.

I take it you have to be on steamtrail chat (I forget the exact name) I'll try it again
We are mostly on Discord, which I understand you have some problems with. What kind of computer are you using for this?
Discord!!! Thank you...I had a senior moment and couldn't remember! I'll download it again. I have an old souped-up Gateway running Windows 7. My comp started running really slow, but it may have been the anti-virus program.
Hi @richq11, this is out of line from the posts, I loved the expression "I had a senior moment", just now I understand what an old friend used to say that we are just memory (ours and others)
(I understand I'm almost 6 decades :) and it takes courage to say that.
I've been following a lot of your comments, I would like to see you too on Discord because I think you have a lot of ideas ( and maybe a good field for blooming them) :).
Well, I'm 71! I just reinstalled Discord and it seems to be working fine now. I guess it was the anti-virus program I was running that slowed me down. Is there a trick for getting to fiction-trail once I get on steem-trail?
