ASSUMPTIONS...
"Guy,i swear down,na wetin Vera tell me oh" Trey lied.
"Hmmm,that girl is a real backstabber.I can't believe it.She's so facially angelic,you would argue with your ancestors that she can't hurt a fly"Troy said.
I know Vera.At least although i made her my friend barely 6months ago i know she is not a basket.She even described herself as an ocean that people confide in.She's someone that you will need a spoon to scrape out that secret from her throat.She will never tell you.So why must my case be different.How can she tell my friend my secret.Troy wondered and after a while decided to agree with his friend without confirming from Vera what actually happened, Poor girl.

It was a cold dark night and Vera folded herself into the leopard skinned couch in thier living room.With a phone in her hand she thought. 'What could be wrong?" she asked herself.
She had just messaged Troy to congratulate him on his appointment as the head of a milliondollar company and this was all he could say "So you cannot keep things to yourself again abi?pls i don't want to be friends with you again mbok".Vera was shocked.Infact if not for her skill in urine control she would have voided on the couch.She had to find out what happened and she fortunately did.She didnt ask anyone.Critical analysis did the job.

Three weeks prior to that day,Troy had confesseed his feelings for Vera. She was every real man's dream girl.Who didn't want Vera?
However,Vera was promising girl who believed in friendships and had a mapped out future so she wasn't just a fan of relationships.She was building herself and wasn't just ready for the guys headache.People felt she was lying because she looked 25 already, thought mature and acted mature when she was barely 20. Well that was life for her.She had seen hard life and been through a lot already.She needed a break.
Her friends perfectly understood her.
She was just disappointed that Troy,One friend she treasured so much didn't.
"I'm just a friendly person my dear.That is my personality.I'm Sorry for making you think that my care,concern,humour and gists were green lights.That's just me.I wasn't trying to get your attention.I'm that nice.You are a friend i don't wanna loose hope you understand."Vera said.
"Very well then.I must have been too quick to fall or think it was mutual"he replied And thier friendship continued without issues.
Unknown to them,Trey was a bad friend.He was Troy's best friend but felt jealous that Vera would accept Troy when he started making moves years ago.Troy would confide in Trey that Vera was giving him greenlights when he never asked her anything.Trey would counter and tell lies that it was him Vera loved.They both lived in assumption as to who she really liked.Truth is she liked them both as friends but they expected something more.Trey kept lying to Troy and making him feel like he was the first option while Troy was being played.Of course not,they were both wrong.
The last straw that broke the camels back was a phonecall.Troy had called Vera and she did not pick or return the missed call. Trey laughed at Troy so much that he felt bad.15 minutes later,Trey called and Vera picked immediately. They talked laughing hard,Vera being a good conversationalist.After a while when he thought he had found love Vera said it wasn't mutual.He got his phone and quickly ranted in her inbox.He was wrong.Vera preferred no one.She met Trey first but she felt more comfortable with Troy and woudn't want to loose him for anything.She knew how to keep friends.Some for as long as 15 years.She quickly called back and explained that she missed his call because she was making dinner and had no airtime to call back.She had just gotten into her room to check her call log when Trey called,reason she hurriedly picked and Trey felt twas because she loved him more
They made up after that day and she kept everything to herself.What annoyed her is the fact that Trey lied to Troy about her and Troy believed without confirmation from her.She was also hurt that Troy replied the congratulatory message with an accusation and gave no listening ear as she was too shocked to explain her confusion.Vera's friendship with Troy was ended by Trey's lie and Troy's assumption.Vera told Trey later on that he was just her friend and he was battered to realise he was swimmimg in the sea of assumption.
