THE VICTIM

The day started like any other normal day. He was chilling at home when he got a message from his male friend saying they should go for a party on the mainland. He had nothing else to do and this could be a good opportunity to meet new girls since his breakup with his girlfriend. So he dressed up, told his mum he was going out and stepped out. His neighbor saw him and started hailing him

“Bad guy. You wan go kill all these babes abi”

He smiled. Getting girls has never been hard for him. He was a handsome, well-built guy from a well to do home. He met up with his friend at Victoria island and together they went to the party. When they got to the party, they met a bouncer outside but his friend talked to him and they was let in. Loud music was playing and there was drinks and food at a corner but what he immediately noticed was a lack of girls. The place was filled with guys and just a few girls.

“Well the party is just starting, so the girls might still be on their way” he thought.

He had gotten separated from his friend and now his friend was nowhere to be seen.
“please where is the toilet” he asked the bartender and he was given directions to it.

As he entered, someone grabbed him from the back. He tried to struggle but another person held his hand. The room was dark but from the strength and build of his assailants, he could tell they were men. They pushed him to the floor, he started shouting but they covered his mouth with his hands and hit him in the stomach. When he kept resisting, he was punched in the face.

Were they trying to rob him? He had only a little cash and his phone on him. But then he felt a hand on his waist then someone unbuckling his belt and pulling down his trouser and fondling his ass.

“Oh my God” He thought, "they are trying to rape me."
He was going to be raped by GUYS. He started struggling more and screaming, desperately trying to escape. He felt fingers trying to force their way into his butt hole and his assailant’s lips on his neck,his teeth sinking into his skin. It hurt and he felt like vomiting, but in that moment his mind was focused on escaping and not the pain.

Someone from outside screamed "Police Police."

People started screaming and his assailants got distracted. He pushed one of them and punched the other, grabbed his clothes and ran out of the room wearing only singlet and boxers. He was able to make his escape while the police invaded the place. He kept running and running and didn’t stop until he was out of breath. People walking on the road were giving him strange looks.

He sat down in a corner, trembling. He was scared but also angry. How dare they? He had done nothing wrong, he just went to a party and they tried to rape him. Bloody animals.

But then his mind went to the girls who have had similar experiences and the ones who talked about it on twitter. He had always been among the guys blaming the women, asking them why they went to the party or to the rapist’s house, if they were dressed modestly, asking them why they waited so long to say the story, accusing them of making up such stories now all he felt was regret and shame. But now it had happened to him, who would he tell that he had almost been raped by guys, his shame won’t let him talk. Some people might even think he is a weakling for almost getting raped. His butt still ached.

He thought about his former neighbor, Sandra who had almost been raped at a concert. He had blamed her for going to the concert in the evening before she had moved away because she couldn’t bear the trauma.
There was also Timothy who claimed an older woman had raped him but he had just thought the guy was weak. His phone fell out of his jeans. He picked it up and called for an Uber and after that he called Sandra.

She picked up and he said "I'M SORRY"

THIS IS JUST A FICTIONAL STORY THAT SHOWS THAT RAPE CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE. WE SHOULDN’T TRY TO BLAME THE VICTIM BUT INSTEAD LOOK FOR HOW TO HELP THEM AND GET JUSTICE FOR THEM. IF SOMEONE SAYS NO, LEAVE THEM ALONE. DON’T SAY HE OR SHE WANTED IT OR THE PERSON WAS SEDUCING YOU. RAPE IS RAPE.

AND TO SOME WOMEN THAT SAY NO AND WHEN THE GUY LEAVES THEM ALONE THEY GO OUT AND SAY THE GUY WAS WEAK, A COWARD OR IMPOTENT YOU ARE PROMOTING THE RAPE CULTURE AND ALSO SOME MEN WHO THINK BECAUSE THEY SPENT MONEY ON A GIRL THEY ARE ENTITLED TO SEX IF SHE SAYS NO, LEAVE HER ALONE, NOT JUST FOR HER SAKE BUT FOR YOURS TOO, RAPE IS A CRIME . IM NOT ATTACKING ANY GENDER. THANK YOU.
