Voices | 50 Word Story

in #fiction5 years ago

I really should bring back my 50 word stories. I've neglected them for too long. There's this unique feeling that comes with telling a story in 50 words.

Taka a look at this one.

She opened the door slowly. The interior was dark. She held her breath and listened. Everything was eerily quiet. She frowned. She was so sure – the voices. They were coming from the room. Eyes closed, she leaned against the door and counted ten.

"Hello there", a voice whispered

She screamed.

I agree! The first fiction I ever wrote (except for assignments in high school) was a fifty word story for a contest by @jayna on steem. Now I am obsessed with writing.
Here's my first ever 50 word story.

Oh, that wasn't bad for a beginner. When I started taking writing seriously, I struggled a lot. It was difficult to write longer fiction without losing the pace and boring the reader. I've taken a few creative writing classes in between, and I intend to attend more workshops. It gets better with time.
