Wolfs shepherd
First of all. If you haven't read any of @suesa stories you should probably start with Witchcraft. Next, continue with A Christmas Story?
They are extremely fun to read and will give you a sense of what you were missing. You can find all of her stories on google drive mentioned in A Collection of Stories.
She also has a second channel on which she posts random stuff @suesa-random. One of those are custom made drawings suggested in comments. I wrote a story based on those drawings. With her permission I use them here.
ba boom... ba boom... ba boom...
His heart was pounding like never before. The only thing calming him down was pleasant music coming from big pipe organs above him. From time to time there were few notes that didn't fit in but overall sounded beautiful. He tried to focus on music but the only thing he kept watching was the red light on confession box. They were in there for at least 40 minutes.
What is she doing to him?
The doors opened with squeaky sound.
Subject jumped out of confession box like he was trying to escape the scorching heat of hell. Dim light revealed his shape. He was all green and puffed up. He looked at him with bulgy eyes. It was a frog.
The frog continued jumping towards the doors in synchronism with a rhythm of the music. In some other circumstances, this would be funny but his thoughts were elsewhere. With a sudden movement of the head, his eyes were on confession box again.
The light changed to green. It was time.
His hearth would have fallen into his pants but he wasn't wearing any. He had to go in. There was no escaping this.
He sat on a small bench and closed the door behind him. All the windows were tinted and it was almost completely dark. He would be scared to death but his eyes were somewhat different. He could see in a dark.
Bright reflection from the big cross pierced his eyes. It was for a mere second that he looked at her. She was all fluffy and soft. But her mind, her mind was the complete opposite. He could not understand how can such evil reside inside a sheep.
"Greetings my child." She was in control of almost everything and everyone. It was not hard for her to imagine she owns the world and do as she likes with her subjects.
"H-hello?" Wolf replied with trembling voice. He never knew what he should say to please her to not get punished.
"First of all. Do you still wear our colors?" She made all of her subjects that weren't sheep to wear sheep's coats. It was one way to remind them that she is the boss. Wearing it made individuals more integrated into the society of sheeps which resulted in better control over them.
"Of course! I wouldn't let you down my master."
"I have another mission for you wolf." Sheep said in a serious voice.
"I'll do as you command."
"Challenger has arisen in the south. I don't like her and don't want for anyone to get an idea of overthrowing me. She always stands out. You will recognize her by the long neck. Her name is... Giraffe."
"And let me remind you. Do not fail or this will be the eeeend of you!" The anger in her voice revealed the animalistic side of her.
"Auuuu..." wolf howled and ran out of the confessional box like his tail was on fire.
Wolf ran straight to his uncle Jackal. He was one of few who knew the way to Africa because he once lived there. The dictatorship of Sheep brought him to EU. She had thugs like him close to her. It was the easiest way to manipulate them. Jackal actually liked his position as a bodyguard. The only thing he hated was his wool coat. It was custom made but itchy as hell.
By decree, they shaved sheep each year and made sheep like camouflage clothes and coats for their new recruits. Everyone had to wear them no matter if itchy or not.
Wolf came into a strange land not known to him. It was very open, somewhat flat and few trees here and there. He didn't see anyone in his sight. This was the first time he actually felt safe. He sat there calmly thinking this could be his new home. After all, this place is big with not many visitors.
"Hi, hi, hi!" The voice was coming from the bush behind him.
"Who is that? Show yourself!" He demanded answers from breakers of his zen state.
"Don't you recognize us?" They stepped from the bush revealing their faces.
Damn hyenas! They were wearing sheep coats. Sheep must have sent them to assassinate the Giraffe as well.
"I'm here to check if everyone wears proper colors." He lied.
"There is one. Goes by the name Giraffe."
"Thanks, guys!" He ran away determined to find Giraffe before those vultures do.
After a long run, he was barely catching the breath. But at last, she was there. It was not hard to miss her. Even trees could not hide her completely. She was beautiful.
He knew what to do. It was time for him to step out of the crowd, think with his own head. He was done being a sheep. He unbuttoned the coat and threw it on the ground. While watching how the wind is covering it with sand he felt relief how his old self was disappearing, making room for a better personality, a new him.
He ran towards Giraffe.
"Quickly we have to hide you! They are coming!" He was already looking around him for the hiding place.
Giraffe was confused seeing a stranger without a sheep coat. But it was the reason to believe him. She knew she had many enemies that want to harm her.
"Ok." She replied trustingly.
Meanwhile, the Wolf figured out he couldn't hide her anywhere on land. It was too flat, there were no hills and if he were to put her behind the trees her head would stick out.
"Here!" He handed her a snorkel.
"Go in the lake. Find the deepest spot. You should submerge completely. You can keep breathing through this snorkel."
There they were. Seven hyenas. As they were getting closer wind was getting stronger as well.
Then there was this voice seemingly coming out of nowhere. "Uuuuu, uuuuuu..."
It spooked hyenas and they ran off to direction from where they came. They associated it with the place and thought it was cursed.
Wolf knew better. He remembered his uncles Jackal teachings. What they heard was a song of sand dunes. But hyenas were too dumb to remember anything even if they lived there.
"You can come out!" He signaled to Giraffe.
"You're safe. Now we have a chance to change the world."
