Being alive, as a sign of protest

Hello, friends of @adsactly

International Women's Day was celebrated during these days. In many countries, marches, conferences and other activities were held not only to pay homage to the women of the world but also to remind our societies of the rights that we have achieved in recent years and which are inviolable. To celebrate and honour this day, I wanted to bring to you three micro-stories that speak of the prejudices and atrocities that our women have had to suffer in these times, because as I have pointed out on previous occasions, although our voices have been heard in some parts of the world, in other parts we are still silenced. I hope you can reflect on this with the following reading:

No labels

The woman was very enthusiastic on the first day of work. That company was a leader and one of the most innovative in its field. The woman's confidence was backed up by her grades, she had been the best promotion average, also by her perseverance and discipline in her university studies. When she entered the office, all twenty male eyes fell on her. When she looked around, she realized that she was the only woman on the team. Sure enough, she reached out and squeezed hard on the men's hands, which spread out with suspicion. As she walked, behind her she heard rumors that made her turn and face the men again who, united, looked down at her with derisive laughter. Firmly, she asked forcefully:

_What is the matter with me?

_We weren't told we'd be working with a woman," said one of the men.

_I wasn't told I'd be working with you either. I am not afraid to work with men, I don't know if you are afraid to work with women. I am not afraid of other people's talents, but I am afraid of the mediocre ones.

The way to the door

Lying on the floor, her mouth swollen, broken and full of blood, Angela looked at her claw-like hands. From down there, she looked at the figure of the man standing in front of her and shouting at her loudly. She closed her eyes, and like an echo she heard the man insulting and shouting at her. The man, full of anger, took a lock of the woman's hair and pulled it up. Like a puppet, Angela's body shook with pain and tried to get out of the hands of the man who was shouting incongruities. The man threw her back on the floor and there, amidst the tears, the woman saw that there was a light in front of her and began to crawl to her. Like a wounded animal, the woman was crawling and in every movement she felt her bones breaking. The man, seeing what the woman was up to, shouted at her loudly:

_If you walk out that door, you won't come back. Stay or I will ask for a divorce. Stay because I love you.

The woman's eyes filled with salt water that reached her mouth and made her cry even more. The woman crawled and thought that fear was an animal that bit and poisoned the soul. Slowly, the woman crawled towards the door when she heard the first detonation, then felt the second. From below she looked at the man standing in front of her with a gun in his hands and thought that men do not kill women out of love, but out of fear.

It's not no

From the stand, the defense attorney questions the victim and points a finger at her and asks:
Why do you say this man abused you, if he's your husband and you've shared a bed with him for five years? Why do you say he abused you if you've had sex with him and given him two children in the last five years? Why do you say he abused you if when your husband came home, you had a short robe that exposed your legs and breasts. Why do you say that your husband abused you if when he came in instead of going to sleep in another room, you got into the double bed, even though you were upset. Why do you accuse your husband of having abused you if before the world and before God, you belong to him.

The trembling, tired woman, but with a firm voice, answered:

_Because when he asked me to have sex that night, I refused. A thousand times, I said NO. And NO is NO.

En realidad hay todavía en nuestra cultura la mujer es símbolo de la sexualidad, y tienen un potencial más alto que los hombre en el nivel de gerenciar una empresa

Many labels and stereotypes have been created around women. We have to fight against that way of seeing life. Human beings are a whole, we are equal, the same creatures under one sky. Change can begin with us. Thank you for your comment, @oresteg.

Three extraordinary stories, dear @nancybriti. Each one demonstrates the determination of women, our capabilities and the will to defend our rights as human beings. Let us hope that things will change in societies where women are objects, belongings without voice or rights.
A phrase with great resonance: "...men do not kill women out of love, but out of fear."

Thank you for this tribute to the women of the world!

That's right, my dear. According to recent studies, more and more women are occupying spaces that were once denied to them. Some men may see this as competition. It must be said that men and women should be complementary, one to the other, and never see each other as enemies or antagonists. Happy day to you, friend.

Are well-told stories that condense the discrimination or abuse that women in our societies are still subjected to or victimized by. These backward attitudes must be continually revealed and denounced. Thanks for your good post, @nancybriti

Many of these stories, unfortunately, have a lot of reality, so their exposure or denouncement must be done even through fiction. Raise our voices and use our weapons, even if our weapons are a pencil, a computer or a cell phone. Greetings, @josemalavem
