FGM - Female Genital Mutilation

Over 200 million females from just after birth to well into puberty have suffered from having some parts to most of their genitals removed. This is an inhumane practice that offers no health benefits at all!

It was created by men to control women.

As far as health effects it can cause recurrent infections, difficulty urinating and passing menstrual flow, chronic pain, the development of cysts, an inability to get pregnant, complications during childbirth, and fatal bleeding. There are no known health benefits.

Many times FGM is done without anesthetic using dirty instruments including knives, glass, scissors, sharpened rocks, and even thumbnails. Ten, twenty and even thirty or more girls may have this procedure done with the same tool with no disinfectant between operations.

I cannot understand the mind set of these families that allow this to happen to their children!
The men I can understand. It causes them no pain and it causes their sons no pain. It also places females in a different class, well below the males.
Are women and girls that insignificant?

The problems with FGM are lifelong. It harms their mental and physical well being throughout their life, it complicates childbirth, and it leads to a whole plethora of health issues.
I am not going to get into the five different types of FGM in this article because, frankly, it just makes me too sick to write about.

In Canada, Justin Trudeau and the Liberal party are contemplating removing FGM from the Canadian Citizenship Guide.
In effect, this mean that the "Feminist" Trudeau, does not care about this barbaric practice being carried out on females in this country. This is not only a great moral disaster, it goes against all family values we hold dear in Canada.

How can we still be doing such disgusting things in 2017? Are we still so backwards as a race?

We can not stop the world from performing this hateful procedure, but perhaps we can stop this from happening in Canada!
