My entry for the 7 DAYS ANIMAL PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST by @flamingirl - Day #1
Everyone who knows me a bit better here on Steemit knows that I love animals and that in the past we have already helped animals in need. Therefore I prefer photos with happy animals and what I really hate is animal cruelty.
Anyway, here in Thailand they don´t know this word. Animals don´t have the status like in the western world, especially wild animals.
The Asian Elephant
The Elephants here in Thailand were used as working animals since hundreds of years and I don´t want to judge on this.
BUT...riding on the back of an Elephant just for a little bit of "FUN" and to show pictures to your relatives at home is just SICK!!
It just needs a bit of research to find out that this is pure Animal Cruelty. Elephants are crepuscular and nocturnal. In other words they spend the daytime chilling in the shade and not transporting stupid Tourists!
OK, enough ranting, this is my particiaption for Day 1. Two very poor tied up Elephant.

I habe das auch schon gelesen und mir Videos angeschaut. :( Sehr traurig, dass das noch immer passiert. Ich hoffe, dass es einmal Schluß damit wird. Ich mag aber dein Photo sehr, nur das nicht, dass ihre Beine gebunden sind.
Danke, freut mich das dir das Bild gefällt. Ich befürchte, solange es Menschen gibt wird es auch Tierquälerei geben.
wenn menschen anfangen tiere für ihre zwecke zu missbrauchen,wird es kriminell--deswegen sage ich-bewusste wesen unterstützen nichts,wo tiere verheizt werden-

Ja mit den Elefanten könnte man viel bewusster und sorgsamer umgehen.

That is a heartbreaking photo my friend... You can literally see the sadness and suffering in their eyes. I appreciate you spread the word on this topic. I do the same.
it is very sad but I had to take it. It´s even harder to watch the younger Elephants as they are separated from their Mom. And then you see laughing Tourists taking photos. Drives me mad!!!
Ich hab das Elefangenreiten geliebt wärend meiner Zeit als Jungspunt in Thailand. Wir hatten da in der Nähe sogar eine Elefantenaufzucht. Von dem her waren meine Gastfamilie und ich sehr oft da. Viel meh spannendes gab es nicht...
findest du es denn heute noch ok das die Tiere genutzt werden um Touristen Spaß zu bereiten? Ich kann jetzt nichts dazu sagen wie es bei dir damals war, jedoch finde ich es hier echt grausam!
Bei uns war es eher eine Aufzucht und Pfegestation und die Elefanten wurden mit der zeit weg gegeben. So haben wir hier eigentlich von alledem nichts mitbekommen. Deine Abneigung und verachtung gegen solche Ausbeitere teile ich aber.
das ist dann natürlich etwas ganz anderes. Vermutlich auch in einem eher ländlichen Gebiet.
