MY FEARS

MY FEARS

In life, it is said that what doesn't kill a man makes him. FEAR is one word that the mere thought of it gives one goose bumps and a skip in the heart. Growing up, and uptil now, I have had so many things to fear for, some of my fears I have conquered while some I am still dealing with.

Let me start by telling us what fear is from my English dictionary.

 #FEAR is a strong uncontrollable, unpleasant, emotion caused by actual or perceived danger or threat. In other words, FEAR is a phobia, a sense of fear induced by something or someone, extreme generation in awe, as towards a supreme being or deity# 

Whenever the word FEAR comes to my mind, I always have the thought of an emotion which is caused by a bad or an ugly situation.

My greatest fears are thieves, inferiority complex and cows. Each of these fears make me very scared. The day I encountered THIEVES I was 10 years old then. It happened around 1:00am when we were woken up by a tap of stone by our neighbors from the building beside ours, as was the custom then.

We all woke u and the main business started, they robbed everybody in the building, inflicting injuries on some of the tenants, the worst part was that my mum had to give them the only money for myself and my siblings school fees, it was a terrible experience. Did I mention my dad had to hide under the bed with two of my uncles while my mum sits on the bed as a prayer warrior that she is and it really saved us.

Till date each time I hear about thieves, I start to tremble as I don't know if I'm gonna overcome that fear.

Inferiority complex was what I suffered from, and when it comes to going to the crowd to say something, I always get a cold feet, back in those days when I come in contact with my age mates who can fluently and freely express themselves, I pity myself and fear for my life. But the good news for me is that I've overcomed that fear.

Have you ever been chased by a COW before???. That was how it all started. I was in a dream that faithful night and this cow gave me the chase of my life, it was so horrible, as if my legs could not carry me. I ran and ran, shouting for help but none came, until I fell down and fainted, only to open my eyes and it was all but a dream.

Coupled with this terrifying story I was told when I was a kid.....

#Dat cows are wild animals and as wild as they are, they act the craziest when they are upset"

In conclusion, I'll like to add that we have so many things to fear for, amongst them are relationship issues, family problems, academic hurdles, finding a job and staying in the job. A lot of them, some we are overcoming while some are still there either dealing with us or we are dealing with them. But we can only ask God for his grace, the grace to overcome our fears, because for such thing being fearful, it is not a good thing.

I indulge us all to raise our hands of prayer to God for this grace to be bestowed upon us, so as to ever remain strong to defeat and overcome.
