DFB Cup Final - FC Bayern vs. Eintracht Frankfurt - It's about to start. Heynckes full of anticipation

in #fd7 years ago

Hi Steemunity,

Jupp Heynckes entered the podium one last time on Friday for a press conference the day before the match. With the DFB Cup final against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday evening (live on ticker and web radio from 8 pm) the 73-year-old's great career will end. "Of course, emotions will come up," Heynckes looked ahead, "Berlin is the German Wembley. With a wonderful atmosphere. It is certainly another highlight in my biography. One likes to remember that later."

So that the 2013 triple winner will really like to remember this in a few years' time, a victory and the trophy associated with it are of course to come. That's why the football teacher and his team played through "many details" again last week. To the coach's great delight, Manuel Neuer will join the team for the first time since September 2017. After his midfoot break, the captain will be in the squad, but "not play right from the start", as Heynckes already revealed.

Müller ready for use
Thomas Müller, who has had a gastrointestinal infection in the last few days, is also "completely restored. He can play from the beginning. I have no reservations about that." The injured Jérôme Boateng, Arturo Vidal and Arjen Robben will be missing.

As reigning champions, many experts see the FCB as the favourite in this final against last season's eighth. For Heynckes, however, the situation is not at all clear. "Eintracht played a very, very good Bundesliga round. They were in the cup final last year and now again," explained the veteran, "they play with great commitment, ambition and passion. And they also play good football. We've been warned."

The trophy to say goodbye
Mats Hummels feels the same way. "This is a difficult task. Only one top performance is enough to hold the trophy in his hands," said the centre-back, for whom it is of no importance that the next Bavarian coach, Niko Kovac, will be sitting on the opponent's bench. "We want to win the trophy, that's above everything," the 29-year-old once again made clear.

Before returning to the team hotel, Heynckes and Hummels stood next to the coveted trophy for the photographers. A sparkle was clearly visible in the eyes of both Munichers. The Bavarians are ready for the last big showdown in Jupp Heyncke's great career.

Your tip and mine?
What's your guess for tonight? As always, I'm optimistic about a 4: 1 for our FC Bayern.

mia san mia,
Röbe
