Since Jupp Heynckes was appointed to the post of Carlo Ancelotti last year, FC Bayern has been back on the road to success. With Jupp, the FCB has won 16 out of 17 matches in the "Bundesliga" and lost only one.
The seventh German championship in a row is almost fixed. The FCB is the favorite for the "Cup victory" and also in the Champions League they are still there (even if the hardest rivals are still waiting there).
So it is quite understandable that the club management of FCB does everything possible to extend the contract with Jupp over the summer of 2018.
Even though Jupp said at the time of his inauguration that it was a service of friendship for him, which he did not intend to carry out longer than the summer of 2018, the statements made in the last few weeks were no longer quite clear.
But now in the match against Freiburg on Sunday he has found clear words. In addition to praising the rival coach Christian Streich, he also made it clear that this was the last meeting of the two coaches in the Bundesliga, because he will definitely stop this summer.
Personally, I think it's a pity. But Jupp is at the age of 72 years old when he finally deserves his rest. He'd rather spend time with his wife and dog.

seit Jupp Heynckes das Amt von Carlo Ancelotti im letzten Jahr übernommen hat, ist der FC Bayern wieder in der Erfolgsspur. Mit Jupp hat der FCB in der „Bundesliga“ von 16 von 17 Spielen gewonnen und nur eines verloren.
Die siebte deutsche Meisterschaft in Folge ist so gut wie fix. Der FCB ist Favorit auf den „Pokalsieg“ und auch in der Champions League ist man noch dabei (auch wenn dort noch die härtesten Gegner warten).
Somit ist es durchaus verständlich, dass die Vereinsführung des FCB alles daran setzt, dass man mit Jupp über den Sommer 2018 noch den Vertrag verlängern kann.
Auch wenn Jupp schon beim Amtsantritt gesagt hat, dass es für ihn ein Freundschaftsdienst ist, den er nicht länger als bis zum Sommer 2018 durchführen will, waren die Aussagen die letzten Wochen schon nicht mehr ganz eindeutig.
Doch jetzt im Spiel gegen Freiburg am Sonntag hat er dann doch klare Worte gefunden. Neben lobenden Worten für den gegnerischen Trainer Christian Streich hat er auch klar formuliert, dass das das letzt Aufeinandertreffen der beiden Trainer in der Bundeslige war, weil er im Sommer auf jeden Fall aufhören wird.
Ich persönlich finde es sehr schade. Aber Jupp ist mit 72 Jahren in einem Alter, wo er endlich seine Ruhe verdient hat. Er soll die Zeit doch lieber mit seiner Frau und seinem Hund verbringen.
Jetzt die spannende Frage. Wer wird der neue Bayern Trainer? Thomas Tuchel, Ralph Hasenhüttl, Niko Kovac oder vielleicht doch Jogi Löw? Oder doch wer ganz anders?
Eine Entscheidung seitens des FCB sollte noch im April fallen.
