I Love Vintage! The Great Florentine Designer, Emilio Pucci & My Favourite Colour Combinations!

in #fashiondesigner7 years ago (edited)

Fleamarket shopping is a part of my fun and belongs to my lifestyle like food & good music for my soul. I usually discover those mostly charming places in each city right away.

It's the only place where I would look out for colourful things.
I found a similar dress in Miami back in the early 90's and still in love with it!

I wear black most of the time and only buy basics, preferred "online" because I am not patient enough for packed stores. I call it "quick shopping".
I never liked big shopping malls and only go to such huge impersonal buildings, if I really, really have to. I am probably one of those women who does not like shopping for clothes at all but when it comes to vintage markets and thrift stores, my passion for the past, various cultures and antiques will be "on fire".

The other day I was asked by @zeroooc who paints a hummingbird for me, what my favourite colours are. The first thought, jumping in my mind, was "PUCCI, who's designs were inspired by The Italian countryside, its local folklore, the sea of Capri, the famous ski resorts of the Alps, the Palio of Siena, traditions Sicily and the beauty of Florence.

Here they are:

Penniless Aristocrat
Emilio’s home address was Pucci Palace, built for his family nearly 1000 years ago. Heir to one of Italy’s oldest noble families, his full name was Emilio Paolo Pucci dei Marchese di Barsento, referring to the family’s fiefdom on the Adriatic Sea. The Palace still contains a Botticelli painting showing the use of forks, by legend adopted for the first time in Florence by the Pucci family. After Catherine de’ Medici used a fork, the fad spread across Europe. In some ways, this fairy-tale legacy suited Emilio. He was an accomplished athlete and expert skier who represented Italy in the 1932 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid. - Read more in the article from 2014

I bet that most "youngsters", the younger generations have never heard of this name before and that's why I write about this topic today, to introduce you to one of my favourite designers and the most beautiful, vibrant colour combinations you might enjoy as much as I do.

The World of Pucci

"He was a minimalist before minimalism, a jet-setter before jets were flying; a scientist before fabric technology became a discipline; provocative in his modernity and sartorial daring. For him prints were rhythm and movement, and in prints he expressed a message of contagious happiness.".......LAUDOMIA PUCCI, speaking of her father and brand founder, Emilio Pucci

His designs featured sensual, free-flowing lines that followed the natural curves of the body - effortlessly elegant clothing which took women from day to evening.........Source

Maybe some women of our century will get in the mood to dress more in such colours again and to find men who buys them:)

Maybe I inspired some of you artists for new prints and ideas how to dress the future "WOMAN". I got really tired of the so called "Kardashian look"!

Can't wait till these outfits will come back mainstream :) They are so funny, even childish i'd say but they are so cute :)

How can you possibly go wrong with Emilio Pucci? I LOVE the patterns and had a really early Pucci logo silk scarf, wish I still did!

I remember these types of patterns from my childhood. What a throwback...

My daughter Kate is into vintage clothing. She sends me a steady stream of items she's found, or recreates on her sewing machine, so I guess I'm a vintage clothing critic as a result. lol

You constantly amaze me with your variety and depth of interests... 😊
