I did an internship for a big fashion magazine
May 2017: I was taken for an internship for this big international magazine.
I was going to do my internship in the marketing department. I was so excited, to manage the social media, to deal with partenariats, to organise events. This was everything they told me I was going to do before I started.
The internship was not paid, but it will to look good on my CV.
1th July 2017 : It’s my first day.
First of all, it’s not the marketing manager who welcome me, it’s the other intern, we are three girls to help one person. We meet in a small room with an another intern from another department.
I’m so ready to start, I’m so motivated, two hours after I arrived, the marketing manager finally arrived. Damn.. I feel like i’m in the movie of the Devil wears prada. She doesn’t look at me, she came with her dog (he was super cute though, a french bulldog).
We need to wait 30 minutes before going into her office, the other intern introduce me to her, she doesn’t say hello, she just asked us to send newsletters.
She was actually really cold, but really pretty.
In the office, there is just women with their dogs.
I’m going to work one month here, and I’m already a bit scared but still super excited. But during three weeks I was just waiting to do some fun stuff. I actually wrote two articles and we organised three events. That was cool, and during the events, we received goodies bags, and even a pair of shoes for 200 euros to represent the brand.
That was the positive points of these weeks, but during 80% of the time we had to prepare at least 3000 goodies bags in a cellar without window during 8 hours… a nightmare…
Being an intern sucks… but I was able to touch this world of fashion and magazine. I feel like every little girl has that "american dream" if I can call it like that. This dream of working in the fashion area, in a big city, doing a brunch the sunday, take a coffee at starbucks and have a nice apartment. I think it's an euphemism, if you really want it, you can do it! But it's going to be harder than you expect! But for me, I think that if you really have the willing to do something, you can reach it.
Anyway, I do not regret it because I learned, and I know if one day I’ll have to hire interns, I’ll help them, teach them and support them.
I felt like I was in a the movie during a month, but at the end I could feel more people trust me, and were ready to give me some cool assignments.

Just saw that you and your BF have a lot of SBD stored in your accounts - Do you know it's worth quite a lot atm - Check out the video I posted today why that is so and how to not burn it ;) Greets!
