Farting
Farting, also known as "sagittal airiness," is a normal physiological phenomenon in humans and animals. Fart is the gas produced by food through the action of digestive tract bacteria. Farting is the phenomenon of gas flowing down the intestine and out of the anus. The sound produced by farting is also due to the vibration of gas through the anal sphincter. So farting is a sign of normal bowel movement. It is abnormal not to fart, or fart too much.
There are two main sources of fart. One is the air swallowed into the digestive tract when chewing, and the other is the gas produced when e. coli decomposes food residue and fermentation. Sometimes eating too fast or eating food that isn't easy to digest or being constipated often can cause venting. Some foods are easy to produce, such as Onions, zucchini, beans and cabbage.
There are also some people who fart frequently because of physical problems, they may be suffering from irritable bowel syndrome, often abdominal pain, abdominal distension and farting. Eating too much starchy food can also cause exhaust. Such as sweet potatoes, potatoes, sweets and so on. People who like pasta fart more. Because grains break down more gas in the gut, they fart more.
Therefore, when eating, we should eat slowly and avoid swallowing too much air in the digestive tract. Eat less cereals, sugars and starches, increase protein and vegetable foods, and balance your diet.
A scientist has found that normal people fart 10 to 15 times a day, about 500 milliliters of gas.
- If farts are abundant but not smelly, they may suffer from stomach diseases such as gastritis and peptic ulcer, as well as liver, gallbladder, pancreas and other diseases.
If farts are abundant and smelly, there may be dyspepsia. - If farts smell bad, there may be gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcerative colitis, dysentery, amoeba dysentery, hemorrhagic colitis, etc. In addition, in the late stage of malignant tumor, due to the erosion of cancerous tissue and the corruption of protein, under the action of bacteria, the released fart will also be very smelly.
- If there is no fart or little fart, accompanied by abdominal pain, abdominal distension, constipation, hyperlipidemia or disappearance of intestinal sounds, hyperbaric and watery sounds and other symptoms, it is likely to be intestinal obstruction.
- In addition, in patients undergoing abdominal surgery, their intestinal peristalsis will suffer from reflex inhibition, stagnation of gas and fluid in the gastrointestinal tract, and non-fart situation.
