The unsustainability of this summer's work. steemCreated with Sketch.

It started out slowly, but it has turned into a pretty busy summer. The problem is; it isn't sustainable.

To begin this little story, I have to bring up burn out. Luckily, I feel like I'm currently over my burn out that I feel like I have been suffering through for at least the last few years. The slack I had this winter and early summer seemed to be enough to get me over it at least for now and that has allowed me to take advantage of a couple of things that lead to a busy summer.

The first thing that happened is that one of my young farrier buddies ended up with a herniated disk. He called me and asked if I could help out with a few clients and since I was so slow, I said I would.

I did think about it a bit, but only for a moment. I wanted to be able to help out and for once in my career, I had the opportunity to do so, and I did. They were excellent horses and clients. I'm super thankful.

The other thing that happened is that I have had a sudden up-tick in requests for folks needing a farrier. That hasn't happened in years. I have seen nothing but a slow and steady decline here in Cincinnati, and my associates tell me they see the same thing.

It all seems to over and I'm back to having a lot of time on my hands coming up. Hopefully, I'll be able to get to work on this content I am hoping to make.
