Agriculture, a multi-million dollar investment.

Good morning, today I would love to share my views on agriculture. A lot of people ignore agriculture saying its a dirty or poor man's business and prefer going into white collar jobs and oil mining. In most parts of the world agriculture is ignored, but the funny thing here is that our life's fully depends on it. Our air is from agriculture, our food is from agriculture, our buildings are 60%agriculture,our environment depends on agriculture but yet it's neglected.
There are thousands of amazing ideas in my head, all in agriculture that I would love to venture into after school. I have acquired half of the things needed to venture into this part. I want to show you all just how much could be realized from just a little hard work, patience and dedication. There are several things to venture into,that would bring great return for a long time. We would talk about some plants and how long they take to produce and how long they could live (and keep producing).

PALM TREES.
According to tales, Malaysia got their palm fruit from Nigeria who used to be the origin of this product and one of the biggest producer in the past. We aren't to sure of this, but there is a very high possibility that it is true. A lot of people came to Africa and introduced a lot of things to is and also took a lot of things from us and the fact remains that the used it quite well. The entire wealth of their country depends on palm oil, they are said to be the 2nd largest producers in the world . But what really happened to this sector of agriculture in Nigeria? If the wealth of an entire nation depends on this product, does that not tell you the amount of revenue in palm oil plantation business that we are neglecting? We abandoned our such a great source of revenue for crude oil Wells and mining.
Owning a palm tree plantation is one of my targets. People say its funny but let me chop this up for us to understand how beneficial it could be. Planting 1000 seedlings, which would take around 2years to start producing fruits, which would last for a whole life time or until you are ready to uproot the trees and plant fresh trees. Just sit back relax and harvest your cash.
You have two options, either to germinate your own seeds or buy already germinated seedlings.
Germinate Your Own Seeds could be very hectic and could take a lot of time. So I intend buying already germinated and treated seeds. But the choice is yours to make . Now let's not forget that the whole of the palm tree is useful, you get palm oil from the first layer of the seeds, you get palm kernel oil from the kernel,the she'll and the chaff could be sold or used for fire, the chaff could b used as manure,mixed in poultry feeds, the leaves could be used for broom making, the tree it's self is a lot of money, palm wine is taped from it.source A keg of palm wine is sold for 4000naira to 5000naira ( around 6USD). Now note that a tree should produce around 4-5 kegs or even more I.e 4000 *5=20,000naira per tree(that is someone's salary) multiple 20,000 by the amount of trees you have I.e 20,000 *1000=2000000naira(two million naira) on just palm wine. Amazing isn't it? The tree produces 2 or more heads of palm nuts with weigh A palm tree Could make you a millionaire over time. You have your palm oil, you have your kernel oil, you have your palm wine, you have your palm leaves(which could b used not just for broom making, but for basket weaving, exotic chairs, hand fans and lots more) . Palm oil is now a vital ingredient in the production industries, it is used in almost everything, if not everything this days. From cosmetics(lip balms, lipstick, lotions, moisturizer, etc) to being used as a fuel, in our foods(baking and general cooking) in polishes and so much more. You could venture into exporting your farm yields. Through the palm plantation alone, you could make over 12million naira a year from the palm oil, kernel oil,palm wine and not to forget the palm fronts which are still used in roofing beach houses and exotic pleasure centers. The tree trunks could also be used for furniture when the trees are old. So you still gain a whole lot from the old trees.
Agriculture is the key to wealth right now and am totally going into it,not just for myself but to reduce the food cost in the country and employing the unemployed. Our fore Father's where farmers and hunters which still falls under agriculture so that's more reason we should go back to our roots, we need food to survive, we need water to survive and agriculture gives us all of that. We get to eat healthy and natural foods even if it means just to have a little garden at the back of our houses, it would make a huge difference not just for us but our environment as well. We need plant to survive, without them there would be no oxygen for us to live of, a whole lot of things would go wrong. PLANT A TREE TODAY! Thanks for reading my post and have a blessed day.
