Diatomaceous earth is something most every home and farm could find use for and it may even be cheaper to order it online than to pick it up locally. I say this because most local retailers sell it for about 5 - 10 dollars per pound or even more! DE is a gardeners best friend. If you are having trouble with slugs or any crawling insects this stuff will make short work of them.
