Breaking The Illusions And Seeing the Bigger Picture For Dummies(Abridged-Last Part).
The looseness of family courts have been the cause of so many things, one of which is that procedures are made to seem loose unlike a criminal case. In my last post, I showed how CPS gets to be so bold and easily step on the rights of parents.
In breaking the illusions and seeing the bigger picture for what it is, I am confidently saying most court appointed lawyers in CPS cases all eat from the same pot and work with conflict of interest so they act passively when handling cases of parents who can't afford a well versed lawyer.
Accused criminals get a sound attorney to handle their cases. Surprisingly, even the court appointed attorney or legal aid provided as part of their constitutional rights of being represented by a legal counsel, who ends up doing an impeccable job, mind you, this isn't always the case though. At times it is hard to even know if an attorney is court-appointed or not, because the attorney wants to do a great job of having another victory under his belt.
CPS goes after people who are mostly below average or those who are poor and do not have the fund to fight back. They end up with a court appointed attorney and they are stuck asking themselves if the lawyer works for them or the county. Though there are rare cases where a court appointed lawyer does a good job, but with what I have heard and my experience, i think it is easier to catch a slippery fish with my hand in a big river than to meet a court appointed lawyer who has the time and who would represent you completely. Most of them ask you to take a plea so they can move on to another case and get a quick pay from the county.
Who has more rights and protection?, Accused criminals are steps up the ladder than parents!, why the double standard?.
When I see criminal proceedings take place, I see numerous witnesses moving to and fro the stand. Court appointed lawyers and private attorneys urge their client to bring up names of people who can testify in their favor, the list is so exhaustive because there is the opportunity for you to build up and defend yourself.
Court-appointed lawyers persuade parents almost all the time not to bring in any witness and telling them it would be unwise if they do because it makes things difficult and lengthy. Don't ever fall for that piece of false information, you have a right to call witnesses, the court and your lawyer simply make this very difficult and most time make it seem you don't have the right because it is a family court. Big Lie.
Every single time, I am made to believe that accused criminals are so much protected by the constitution than parents who are struggling to keep their children. We all need to break these illusions and stand up for our rights that have been systemically hidden or buried.

My good friend Anna had CPS threaten her friend that was going to testify about her good parenting skills. They told her friend that if she testified on behalf of Anna, that this woman's OWN children would be taken away.
This type of behaviour is sadly all too common.
And another elderly couple that was helping her out was told that their care of their grandson, who lived with them and whose mother was deceased, was going to be investigated. Instead of caving, this couple sent their grandson on the bus to his father in another province, so that they could continue standing by Anna's side.
The system is so utterly corrupt and AGAINST the parents that it despicable.
Hi @canadian-coconut,
Is this common in Canada as well? Or is it more to USA system?
Yes, it is common in Canada. The above happened in the town where I live. In just my small town alone I have had 2 really good friends go through CPS problems. Anna (above) had just gotten her daughter back from 3 years in Foster Care right before I moved here and met her and she became one of my best friends. And then another really good friend, whose daughter was best friends with my little girl, went through a horrible investigation with them while I was living here. And then there was the young teen mom that I let move in with me here while I went to court with her and tried to help her get her baby back from foster care. That's 3 people I know really well in one small corrupt town!
Most people don't realize just how bad it is in Canada, and how much we need to know our rights, and what to do if they show up at our doors to protect our families.
Several of the stories shared by people here on Steemit are right here in Canada. This list includes my friend Anna's story, and other Canadians who told their stories here are

Its really disheartening to read/realizing that such situations are in Canada as well 😐
Thank you for the links and accounts. I will read more often.
The media almost always refuses to write stories on behalf of parents in these cases. It seems like almost everyone assumes that if you are under investigation and/or lose your children to foster care, that is must mean you deserve it that you are a bad parent.
I did not know any better until I met Anna about 10 years ago.
Hello @reginagraced, I remember writing a post last year on a similar matter of how parents are less protected than even accused lawbreakers. Personally, I won't advice any parent to work with a court appointed lawyer. If it gets to the point it does happens, there are ways of making your appointed lawyer accountable to you, but this is easier said than done.
I stand by what you said that they eat from the same pot with the CPS and they are just tools to sell off parents rights with little or no objection.
Thanks for this post and it is indeed a very important one. Nice to meet a fellow non-violent fighter like you. Stay blessed and strong.
