"Escaping from being Drug Addicted of my Brother": Tips on how to overcome drug addiction
As my appreciation of @familyprotection's goal to have a good healthy lifestyle and establish a good framework interms of caring the basic unit of the community. I shared this story of mine which will be talking about the drug addiction of my brother and how did he pursue to get out of that kind of addiction?
What are Drugs?
Drugs literally are used for medication, cure, treatment and other intended prevention of diseases.
Perhaps, it was been mistaken to misunderstood by some users on what really its use. Drugs brought them to addiction wherein they have it not for curing but for them to change their consciousness or habituation. In other words, they were using it illegally. Many studies were profounded inorder to avoid this kind of addiction. Infact, drug addiction is really a complex disease attained by humans. It broughts undesirable thoughts to users who have been addicted for so long. To go deeper what is drug addiction really?
Drug Addiction..
It is a kind habitual aspects of drug seeking and use that is very obsessive. Some may lead to uncontrollable decision that can cause death to oneself or harmful circumstances. However, we were obliged to take drugs for medication use but if it was abused and taken everyday or time to time then there's no reason to have changes in your thoughts as well as in your physical movements. If someone were already been addicted too much on drugs, you can noticed some changes in his or her self. I found it personally when my brother was influenced by this unmannerly habit of most.
Brother's Addiction
My brother was still 19 years old on that time, when he started himself to be one of the addicted users of drugs. My parents didn't know about it because for them he was just in school and studying but the truth is he already stopped his study in college.
There was a time that my brother always came home late already. My mother wondered what was happening but my brother try to reasoned out that he was just having there project with his classmate. So we didn't bother him anymore until such time it was already been repeated everyday. My mother already told to my father about the problem. He asked my brother if what was happening, was there any problem in school? but my brother just walked out and smirked at him. He was so shocked because that was just the first time for him, that was also the first time that my brother walked out in his front.
My mother went to school and asked for the informtaion of my brother. There they found out that he wasn't going to school since before. No record of his presence seen in the class record of the professor. My mother immediately went home and tell the news to my father. They waited to my brother to come home until they become asleep still my brother didn't arrived. Next day, my mother searched him in his friend's house. She didn't expected what she will saw, my brother was using the prohibited drugs called shabu. She ran back home cry and cry, until my father arrived from his work. He asked what have happened, then my mother answered,
Your son, was already a user of shabu* and continues to cry.
Mixed emotions can be seen to my father as he heared the words of my mother at exact time my brother went home. He immediately consult my brother and asked what brought him to make those things where he know it was prohibited but my brother didn't listen and again he just walked out. My father ran after him and punch my brother. He fell down and try to make an escape.
Since then, the miserable life of our family began to shuttered. My mother always cry for that reason yet my father didn't give up on conviencing my brother to stop. Until my father got his way to solve it, he let my brother took the exam for Philippine Air Force. My father believe that he has the knowledge to pass the exam yet my brother was a top honor during his high school and elementary days. Indeed, my brother took the exam and didn't fail my father's goal. Still addiction of my brother didn't stop there. He always have his way using drug together with his friends and my father didn't know about it.
The result of the exam was already there, and we were so happy that we found the name of my brother in the list of passers. I can clearly see how happy my parents are. Then, my brother began to start collecting requirements so my father gave him money to have all. One night, my brother came home drunk already, my father asked
Where's the requirements that you collected, did you use the money, where is it?
But my brother just ignored him and fell asleep, my father cry and cry because he thought it was already the end of his suffering. As we woke up and have our breakfast, I didn't saw the presence of my brother, I asked why to them, but they fail to answer me and suddenly tears from the eyes of my mother began to flow. I asked what happen father, he answered me,
Your brother escaped, we didn't know where did he go, we've searched for him but we fail*.
He added,
He just left this letter for us saying, Ma? Pa? i love you but I couldn't take it a way anymore I can't handle myself seeing both you and mother is crying. Don't worry pa, I will pursue your dream for me, I'll find a way to have money and collect those requirements needed for the Philippine Air Force.
My father cries a lot but he didn't give up searching my brother.
Until he found him sleeping at the cityhall. My father immediately wake him up and tell him to go home.
It's okay that you will not continue to work as a PAF as long as you will be back home everything would be fine.
But my brother cry and cry saying sorry to my father and then try to get the folder in his bag and let his father show what he've got. My father was so shocked after seeing the complete requirements of my brother for the Philippine Air Force. I can see how happy he was those times. Then, my brother already got home and control his way to stopped using anymore drugs. Until now my brother was already one of the Philippine Air Force. I am so proud of what he've got, he didn't try to surrender eventhough he was already addicted on drugs. He still prove that he can manage everything even if he already fails many times as well as my father who never stops conviencing my brother to stop from drug addiction so to as my mother also who cares for us endlessly.
Ways on How to Stop Drug Addiction..
I have you these ways inorder to prevent drug addiction, this is just my opinion as an experienced in my family ago.
1 Give attention always to your child. It is truly a way of preventing your child from using drugs because if you as a parents give time to have leisure with your family then there's no reason for your child to become drug addict.
2 Be open to your family. Create a way that you and your whole family have time to talk with your thoughts and problems i each other. One way of being drug addict is when you are just plabting all problems within yourself so to prevent this happen let your child be open-minded with your family always.
3 Love and Care. This is the most improtant above all because without love and care to your children it will lead them to become immature enough in deciding for their own. Love them above all, show them the tender care of a mother or father.
4 Proper Guidance. Provide them a proper guidance in dealing such things also in social lifes. Let them know about the effects of that thing and what causes your life if you joined on that particular thing. Guide them with respect and without any affectance in their part.
5 Become a Good Parent. You can attain this way if you do already began to do the other ways above. It is very important because you are the one who draws the journey of your children. You are the role model as they grow up. Have them the true care of a mother and father.
Those are just the ways I can offer to you, it might not the 100% percent sure but as I swear it would be the best thing to do above all.
