RE: The Three Foster Homes That I Spent Time In.- Growing Up In Foster Care
I can confirm that this is one of the toughest parts about being a foster child, being constantly moved around is very unsettling and confusing. I can't remember how many families I was placed with, but I do remember the one family who I let my gard down with.
This was the only family that I knew cared for me and was not in it for the money, they were working class but they had money. For the first time in my life I felt like I had a home and I started to live a "normal life"
That was until my mum decided to move AGAIN! Which meant I had to be placed with a family closer to her.
That was it! I completely lost it after that and for the next 15-20years I never trusted another human and got deep into drugs and violence.
I relate to what you went through on so many levels and I respect you for having the courage to share it with us.
Bless.
I am honored to share my story with you guys and this is the first time I am talking about any of this. And to know that there are others that can relate and actually care means more to me than you know.
It takes a lot of courage to relive your story . I applaud you and everyone here for taking this giant step in your lives. Just having this community support can make a world of difference. Also knowing that in sharing, you are also helping others heal.
thank you. It helps me more than I can ever tell you guys just to sit here and tell my story.
Yes, just sharing can be very healing. Just knowing others care and understand helps extremely.
So what turned you around from drugs and violence and being able to trust at least one person??
