WHAT HAPPENS IN HOSPITALS: STOP THE SALES OF CHILDREN!
My mum was a cleaner in White-board General hospital, located at White-board street Gaskiya local government area in zungeru, Nigeria. She served diligently and retired some few years back.
Recounting her experiences, she talked of a particular one that swept her off feet and still think about it after years of retirement.
On this day she was on a night shift doing her normal routine in the middle of the night at about 2:34am. She heard a conversation going on between to people. She decided to stay calm and listen to know if it was a safe conversation so she can continue with her work. But the conversation was strange and unusual, so she moved closer to get a clearer hearing.
One of the voices she recognized. It was her boss but, the other one was that of a stranger. The conversation goes thus:
VOICE 1: ... Are you sure it's going to work?
VOICE 2: I would have told you from the start to forget about it if it's not going to work. It's up to you!
VOICE 1: my fears is someone getting to know about this. I just want it dead and forgotten.
VOICE 2: Just do your part and my part is sealed.
She gently stepped back and left without the knowledge of anyone and continued her work somewhere else. Wondering what the conversation was for.
In the morning as she was about leaving she heard a woman crying in one of the wards, been consoled by one of the voices she had heard. She decided to step inside having something in mind already. She got to know the patient was delivered of a baby and she was latter told she lost the baby while she was too weak and unconscious to attend to the baby owing to complications.
Her baby has been exchanged for that of another!
This is the first time she's talking about it for fear of the unknown.
