Who is your family?

A very interesting thought came to me today. What is the family? What does the family consist of? My family is my mother, father, sisters, or my family is just my husband and my kids. And who is really important for me? My mum or my husband?
A lot of questions appear when I begin to think about the definition of Family. The Wiki tells us that family is a group of people affiliated either by consanguinity (by recognized birth), affinity (by marriage or other relationship), or co-residence. Does it mean that we have 2 or even more number of family? Which family is more important for us? The parents, who gave you a birth, husband, who shares with you bed, or just children, who are your heritage.
We cannot love each person the same, or we can, but the Love is different. For example, I love my big son as strong as my little one. I feel more tenderness for a little one, but it doesn't mean that I love him more then another.

My opinion is that each family has it's influence in a certain period of life. Parent's opinion is more important before the marriage. After the marriage wife becomes more significant, because she will spend the whole life with him, if the God bless them. A man with a woman creates a new little country, where they together, hand by hand, solve a lot of problems. Then why do we always have a problem with our mothers-in-law? How to make the borders between the parent and wife or husband.
As for me, I give all my love to my kids and husband and protect my little peace island from all the negatives. Sometimes I came to the mainland to see my mum, and sisters, give some kind of help and then go back to my lovely personal island.
