My grandmother died - Sad Days
My grandmother died two days ago. I am very sad at the moment, althought the dead was for sure a relief for her. My grandmother suffered from the alzheimers disease, and it got worse from day to day. She forgot that her husband has died, if she was talking to me or my brother. It was a very sad and horrendous illness. I hope i will never suffer from this disease. My grandmother nearly saved me from certain death when i was born. I was a early born blue baby and needed oxygen in a oxygen tent when i was born. I didn't start to breath so they pepared my grandmother for a blood exchange with me because her blood would have been the best donor for me to carry the oxygen to my body. Only some minutes before they prepared her for the blood exchange i started to breath and now i am lucky to live already 30 years.

When i think back to my childhood, i realy loved my grandmother very much. It was always something special visiting her and sleeping over for the weekend. She always cooked my favorite food, either "Heidelbeertatscher", "Kaiserschmarrn", "Hirschragout", "Palatschinken", "Leberknödelsuppe" and simmilar things. My grandmother had an indoor pool where me and my brother swam for hours every day. My grandmother tought me to iron my clothes, helped me when i was learning how to ride a bicycle, helped me with my homework, and me and my brother where always allowed to eat sweets that we didn't get a home.
She had a talent to make things very funny and interesting althought it was work. We helped her to pick cherrys and other fruits from the trees in her garden, chop wood for the fireplace, or do the gardening at the vegetable bed. And most of the time it was not exchausting or looking like work but very funny. My grandmother told me how important it is to save up money for the future since i was a child. Every time we helped her with something we received a little money and kept it in a purse at her place.
I even did experience several holidays with my grandmother and my grandfather. I visited Deerfield Beach in Florida several times together with her in my childhood, because she had a flat there. She showed me so many different things helped me with english and talking to the people there. We even had several friends there with whom we played in the sand on the beach.
I will never foget her. Dear grandmother, thousand kisses from me here on earth. Thank you for everything!
