children are our jewels
in the olden times a lady of the Roman society was asked what her treasures are. Without batting an eyelash so to speak ,she drew her children close to her saying "these are my jewels".
Truly, children are life's jewels. So much so that when children leave the family home to find greener pastures parents feel a great emptiness and we call it" empty nest syndrome". As a mother , and i hope all mothers will agree with me. we really don't have favorites. All of them are our favorites, as all of them, though the came from and receives the same upbringings and discipline are unique in their own ways. They have something that makes them so lovable and some traits that makes them a character and unforgettable.
I have four jewels. Four to be finite. a girl who is the eldest and three boys .
The eldest we named Ada Ayn after Ayn Rand and Ada being my husbands surname. We named her Ada Ayn because at that time our favorite writer is Ayn Rand. Booklovers will certainly Ayn Rands famous novels. She is presently38 years old. Still single and a BS Fisheries graduate from the University of the Philippines (UP) a registered Nurse and a Special Education graduate fro UP. She work in Cebuas a BPO
THe 2nd is a boy who now turned a boy girl. he never finished dollege and is tending to a small store in front of our house we Filipinos fondly call as a "sarisari Store(variety store)He is named Kan Bert. My husbands name is Alberto so we covenanted that all our children if boys should at least contain the word Bert in their names
The 3rd is also a boy. We named him Remberto Amilcar..Remberto is taken from a l970 Doctor Political Activist Remberto Bobby De laPaz a volunteer for the barrio and who was murdered by the Military during the Marcos regime. He as born the day the good doctor as killed. Amilcar is taken from a revolutionary leader from South AMerica. He works with a Home mutual financing agency of the government in the city of Cebu.
The 4th or the youngest is Alberto Jr...a registered nurse who is working in Manila ,Philippines
children are very responsible and loving as all children should be and theres no day in our life that we wish we see and feel them.
