The faith of Paul: See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many
The apostle Paul in his writings taught to us the importance of inheriting the Kingdom of Heaven. Because the Kingdom of God is more than temporary happiness, it is also joy, peace, security, longevity, and eternal life (contemplative activity). And to inherit from above all these blessings, Paul told us, we need a perseverant discipline, because we live in a world where men are devoted to the love of money, and the Kingdom of God has nothing to do with money but with the truth and goodness, the kingdom is progressive, gradual and begins with small decisions; the Kingdom of Christ is not something that will immediately solve all of life's problems, people who seek constantly immediate solutions are not good for spiritual things.
That is why the apostle Paul expressed with wisdom: "Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children" Hebrews 12:7. Living the gifts of God is a challenge in a world without hope and full of greed and personal ambitions; the dominion or empire of God's perfections also is not for those who doubt or tire easily, and so Paul continued: "Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees" Hebrews 12:12.
Holiness, that is, the spiritual perfection of man through discipline, needs the faith and the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion) in order to see the Lord and the immaterial realities (spiritual enlightenment); and all believers, the apostle Paul taught us in his epistle to the Hebrews must strive to achieve this holiness, the grace of the Lord must be for all. And it is for this reason that Paul expressed:
"Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many" Hebrews 12:14-15.
