Fair Game: Fair City - Strategies, Play, and Personal Review
Hey everyone! I just started this new crypto game, Fair City, and wanted to write about my experience so far.
If you'd like to check out the game company, their website is https://fair.game/#/

General Game Information
This game is a collection based game, similar to cryptokitties. Your goal is to obtain the rarest type of building, the landmarks. Currently the buildings aren't on blockchain, but the transaction can be traced on the blockchain. In the coming future, the buildings will be on blockchain.
Each time a city is released by the game, there are 500 available lands to purchase. I will be referring to the prices in regards to the game's cryptocurrency FAIR. At the time of writing this, there has been 2 FAIR cities, and 1 ETH city released. All are sold out. The ETH city sold out within 10 minutes, the first FAIR city within a couple of hours, and the latest FAIR city took about half a day. As not too many people own the FAIR coin just yet, the FAIR cities took a bit longer. Also the 2nd FAIR city was a surprise release.
Land Development and Building
Once you purchase a land, your land prosperity is "Far-Off." Every time you are able to develop your land, you can increase its prosperity at these levels: Far-off, Normal, Lively, Prosperous, and Very Prosperous. Each upgrade takes 10 FAIR and depends on if there is development left to be done on your land. On a brand new land, your residual development resources are at 10. Each time you upgrade, the development resources go down little by little. If you are unlucky, then you may use all 10 with the first development. If you are lucky, then only a few development resources will be used each time and will allow you to reach the Very Prosperous land level.
When land is developing, the border colors represent the prosperity at current.
Green = Normal
Blue = Lively
Purple = Prosperous
Gold/Red = Very Prosperous
Once your land can no longer be further developed, you may build. The building is randomly generated, with the lowest level of buildings being most common, and the landmarks being extremely difficult to get. I believe I've only seen 3/4 landmarks thus far out of 1500 total lands. Currently, you are unable to sell buildings to other people, but you may sell your land back to the game for set prices. All landmarks currently sell for 15000 FAIR. The next level building is 2500 FAIR, and goes all the way down to 25 FAIR.
*Just because you get a very prosperous land doesn't guarantee that you will get a landmark. It's just that your land is "able" to produce a landmark, but the chances are still low. Here is a list of the current available buildings: https://fair.game/faircity-main/#/building
I really hope I'm able to produce a landmark in the near future.
Demolish
If your land produces a very low priced building, you get 1 chance to demolish and rebuild another random building. Demolish costs 25 FAIR, and then building again costs another 25 FAIR for a total of 50 FAIR. You may get unlucky like me, and get a worse building 2nd. So take your own risks with demolishing any building you get, cause you may always get a worse, less valuable building afterwards.
My Experience thus far
So I started the game with the first and second FAIR cities. I got a very prosperous land on my first land bought, but was only able to get 2 low grade buildings, even after my demolish. I ended up selling it to buy another FAIR land on the new city along with another few lands. I only got 1 prosperous land out of 6 new lands, 5 of them being lively/normal. I was very sad. Most of the buildings weren't very good, so I rebuilt close to all of them. I was able to get 2 Large Playgrounds that I sold to buy a few more lands. After a few buying and selling, I ended up with a few buildings <400 FAIR in value, and a prosperous land Luxury Casino worth 2500 FAIR.
After all of this, I think I broke even. With this game design in mind, it will depend A LOT on luck for you to get profits from buildings. At current the market is available for LANDS ONLY. This means all of our buildings can only be sold to the game at set prices. Hopefully in the near future, we can sell these buildings to other users, and they release new sets of buildings, making the older buildings more rare/valuable. Also, being able to sell landmarks to other users may be more profitable than the set prices that the game is currently offering.
Profit Potential
A way to profit in this game is to buy a bunch of lands at opening, and sell them on the market to the people who were too late to buy a land themselves. I have seen a lot of people buying a land for 500 FAIR, and then posting them on the market for small profits (550-700 FAIR)
Also, another strategy is to develop the land, and sell the Very Prosperous lands on the market for a nice markup, hoping that people will buy the chance to get a landmark at premium prices.
As the game is still very new, I'm sure there will be many different strategies and ways for people to get profits. If you have been able to get some lands in these first few cities, share what buildings you've gotten, or some other tips/strategies that you may have seen.
Recommended Features
Some features that I've recommended to the game are unlimited demolishes/buildings. However the cost of demolishing will either go up incrementally or exponentially. This way, people can invest more money into their very prosperous lands giving them more of a chance to get a landmark. This will promote more active gameplay. Also, it would be great to have achievements for building collections with rewards and a market for buildings. Any features that allow people to have fun and continuously play the game will help this game to be successful.
My experience with the FAIR Game community has been nothing but exceptional. They are extremely receptive in their telegram to questions, really appreciate your game feedback, and are highly dedicated to make this game a fun and profitable experience for all users.
