The Best Teacher of Them All is Failure, For This Reason.

in #failurelast year

Despite the fact that failure is the finest teacher, I frequently hear from people who say they are terrified of failing. They worry about what people would think of them if they struggle to achieve their objectives. They have made their fears a reality because they are terrified to experience the hurt of failing.

They have no idea that failing makes for the best education. They give up before reaching their objectives or, even worse, they accomplish nothing. I've definitely worried about failing. And I'm paralyzed with fear. If you've ever gone through this, you know how miserable it is.

But rather than crippling us, failure should teach us. Sometimes perfectionist tendencies are the root cause of failure dread. Perfectionists find it difficult to accept that failure serves as the best instructor. Perfectionists, at their core, never feel good enough. When they make a mistake, it's enough to send them into a downward spiral of self-doubt and guilt. This frequently prevents perfectionists from taking any action at all. Your relationships, work, and health can all suffer from a perfectionist streak.

This happens because it makes your failure-related concerns so severe that you never try to achieve your goals. This is made worse by the internal criticism and negative thought processes that are part of the perfectionist's toolkit. Understanding that failure can teach you more about life than consistent achievement might be helpful in such circumstances.

...END NOTE.
By accepting your shortcomings and failures, you can overcome your tendency toward perfection. This is not an easy task to complete. Although it requires constant patience, it may be learnt.
