Hello beloved STEEMIAN’S, how are you all?
Hope everyone is fine and doing good.

Solar Eclipse is stunning, isn’t it guys?
But! astronomers and opthalmologist warns us not to look at it directly. But why it's so? Has this question ever striked your mind?
🤔🤔

Don't worry friends, today I'll share with you why to not do so.

First of all we should know the menaces/hazards of Sunlight-

The sun is a large star at the heart of our solar system. Thermonuclear reactions are continuous in sun and we people have natural antipathy to look at it directly with our naked eyes. We all know that Sun emits many light rays, one such a light ray is Ultraviolet ray. These UV rays attack our retina and the consequences are just!
Those who don't know- retina is that part of eye where an image is formed.

Why viewing an eclipse is so dangerous?

The darkness that partners an eclipse can overrule our natural tendency to blink/turn away our eyes, which results on landing of more Ultraviolet Rays on our Retina. It makes the chances of harming our eyes even more. Our cornea focuses sunlight on Retina and the sunlight then starts to burn it and as because our retina don't have pain receptors- the damage already has been done.

How to watch an eclipse safely?

Everything has a solution,right?
So to watch an eclipse our eyes should be protected with a UV blocking filter. Moreover we should use No.-14 welder glasses, Eclipse glasses that are made particularly for viewing an eclipse.Even we are wearing sunglasses, we are not safe! And we shouldn't even use unfiltered binoculars or telescopes. So UV blocking filter is a must.
