THE WORTH OF INFORMATION
“Information is power” they say.
But my question is “how powerful is information?”
There is need to deploy literal understanding so as to communicate effectively so that can rightly appropriate, rate and apply information.
Every information formation communicated conveys a message. The message conveyed determines the efficacy of such information.
To build and to destroy is powered by information. Everyone’s present status quo is attained and sustained by the amount of information you have.
If knowledge is to be mentioned, information must precede. Should this be the case, it also should be admitted that senses are the ‘rock media’.
What we see, feel, hear, taste and perceive in any ways will form a message we receive. At all times, we receive messages through several media, but the CHOICE of retaining or discarding these messages will be determined by several factors;
- Its Purpose
- Our interest
We choose what we keep and what we discard. While some have retained information that eventually marred their lives, many people have kept information that has empowered and upgraded their status quo.
That a man is rich, is in nothing more than the information he has acquired; the information he has chosen to keep; and what he processes. This in essence means, in my opinion that the different between the rich and the poor is;
* In the level and amount of information acquired
* In the capacity and ability to convert information acquired to profit.
Since information births knowledge, the search for knowledge invariably is acquisition of information.
The right application of what is known is what is called wisdom. The much information gathered, though births what is now known may profit so little if one isn’t a strategist.
“The man who knows WHY is of a high advantage the he who knows WHAT. But the one who knows HOW may always be the BOSS” – it’s just what I think though!
A typical example of success via information is found here (steemit.com). Information brought you here, and information sustains you here. But! ‘Income-formation’ has become the reward for the investment you’ve made in information.
Why am I so keen about this? I have come to accept that revolution (world over) is information update.
Spreading right information is spreading the light. Any nation that has attained a global height, has only achieved such result by virtue of her information power. Individual information acquisition and upgrade is what contributes mostly to national development – my opinion too.
It ends that information has not just power to build, but also has enough to destroy. In my opinion too, I take it that ignorance is also a choice. So, choice in itself is vital to human development. Hence how we handle what we know will determine its profitability.
