I stopped using FB nearly a year ago. I did the same with Twitter a few months ago. I did this not because of acts like these, but because it is dangerous to allow centralized IT to store information. Hacks will eventually cause all of it to end up in the wrong hands where authority will further extort using LifeLock for the mistakes they have made. The answer to risk is distribution of data.

There are a lot of people being fooled by ancestry.com's AD's ("see where your strength comes from...") to provide DNA for the centralized database they're building which may become the next data pool that organ harvesters will use to steal body organs (similar to what Chinese dissidents have been suffering). Don't give up your information so easily.
