Facebook suspends 200 apps over data misuse
WASHINGTON: Facebook said on Monday it has suspended "around 200" applications on its stage as a major aspect of an examination concerning abuse of private client information.
The examination was propelled after disclosures that political counseling firm Cambridge Analytica seized information on around 87 million Facebook clients as it chipped away at Donald Trump's 2016 battle.
"The examination procedure is going all out," said an online articulation from Facebook item associations VP Ime Archibong.
"We have vast groups of inner and outside specialists endeavoring to explore these applications as fast as could be expected under the circumstances. To date a large number of applications have been explored and around 200 have been suspended — pending an intensive examination concerning whether they did in truth abuse any information".
