steemit might be a beginning of new decentralized networks but its not professional enough to really replace Facebook. Most of all the usability is not made for the crowd, its too complicated and too many things missing .. but as I said, its a beginning. One can learn from it to create better ones ....
Indeed! Another solid project is onG. Anyway, it would be awesome to get paid for content and imo even better to easily help our favorite content creators!
I think the best way would be to establish free media together with a social network AND markets with cryptocurrencies for local trade, national trade and international connections - the only way to fight globalization and fiat money. A paycoin must be able to pay with - one must know how much it is worth tomorrow and next week - independently from fiat-money. together with a media-collenction of independent blogs, maybe games ... this would turn out a real strong weapon to fight the masters of money and globalization
