Proving Facebook is GarbagesteemCreated with Sketch.

So question for you all... Why do Facebookers find themselves in an emotional state while on the platform? Is this not the exact opposite of the older message board and bbs online content? Propaganda? Confirmation bias content filling one's feed?

I find myself actually disliking Facebook more and more. Interactions with people I know and respect are disappointing.

It's 100% great (and encouraged) to disagree, this is how people grow. My list of problems to date with people's posts / responses (going military and using some language after this):

  1. Chicken Little syndrome: the sky is falling, the world is ending. - Get some fucking perspective. Assess the true nature of the threat. Is anyone's life in immediate danger? If so, can you take action to mitigate the risk? If not can you learn from their mistakes?
  1. Victim Mentality: This is a damn choice. Note there is an actual difference between damage to your person or property and your feelings. Your feelings are your problem. Everyone has a shared vested (selfish) interest in assuring those who initiate harm to other individuals or their property receive consequences.

If it doesn't directly affect the temperature of the water in your pool then you are not a victim.

  1. A strong lack of moral standing. I said it. Morality may be subjective, however, you do not understand wavering on moral principles. You do not compromise morals as a reaction to the choices others make.

It's called integrity folks.

  1. History? People who know this subject far better than I, don't seem to see patterns and seem to expect different results. If you want different results, change the inputs and break out of the current pattern.

Divide then conquer.

Want to break the pattern? Stop the left vs right fake bullshit and judge ideas on merit and actions on results. Condemn all bad ideas and all actions which harm others. Anything short of this is intellectually lazy and shows a distinct lack of principles.

  1. Changing dictionary definitions of words to fit your narrative or scraping the bottom of the word bucket. Examples:

AntiFa - meet the definition of fascists (oxymoron) by using violence, fear and force to force compliance with their ideas. They also meet this definition: http://www.dictionary.com/browse/terrorism

Racist - a poorly chosen word. We have one race, the human race. Utilizing this word shows a lack of thought or basic linguistic and scientific understanding. In short, unless the individual is decidedly anti-human, it is a poor description regardless of the established definition (used as a name to describe people who dislike certain culture and/or regional characteristics).

Suggested alternative for "racists" -Supremacists - Ignorant assholes who are intolerant of individuals from other regions or cultures. Thankfully, today, most of these groups have largely been debased and no longer hold much power to enact violence against others.

Historically (before being largely debased), many supremacy groups also met the definition of fascists and terrorists.

Closing thought:
All ideals espousing the use of violence, force, and coercion against others, for any reason other than self defense, should continue to be challenged.

I will look forward to your comments below. I decided to copy my Facebook post https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10212530565952131&id=1022621687 to Steemit to better demonstrate the low quality interactions and replies on Facebook.
