The scandal associated with Facebook and Cambridge Analytica has caused many users to wonder how to escape from 'facebook surveillance'. The removal of the account seems quite obvious. However, there is also a less drastic method by which Facebook will stop following us on the web.
Facebook follows us on every step
Facebook collects a lot of information about us. After a scandal involving Cambridge Analytica, which was unethically exploited by 50 million users of the site , it was time to stop ignoring this fact and to take better care of your privacy. What is important, Facebook does not only follow our actions when we browse photos of friends, talk with a friend on Messenger, or throw something on our board. Special scripts and tracking mechanisms make Mark Zuckerberg's website also able to record our activities on many other websites.

However, there is a simple way to prevent Facebook from tracking our activity on other websites. For now, it is available to users of Mozilla Firefox, but its appearance on Google Chrome seems to be a matter of time.
The "Facebook Container" extension can be installed in the browser by clicking HERE. It allows you to "isolate" Facebook from other websites on the web.
How does Facebook Container work?
After installing the "Facebook Container" plugin, it will automatically delete all cookies created by Facebook. Now, each time we enter Facebook, the site will run in an "isolated" tab marked with a blue padlock.
All other websites will open outside of this "container", which means that Facebook will lose the opportunity to collect information about our online activity.
This solution has only one drawback. It is so effective that it prevents you from logging in to other websites via Facebook. It also blocks all other Facebook scripts - e.g. facebook comment system that appears on some websites.
What does Facebook know about you?
Facebook stores and analyzes data on the activity of platform users. However, when you delve into details, you can distinguish two main categories of data. The first one includes the account and profile information. Second, behaviroal actions.
Facebook therefore collects such data as: personal data, first and last name, date of birth, e-mail address and telephone numbers, place of employment, course of education, place of birth and residence. This is the tip of the iceberg. Zuckerberg's website analyzes about 60 types of information describing the user. Among them: civil status, favorite hobbies, achievements and awards, tattoos, addictions and habits, type of vehicle we have, anniversaries. The service even records the purchase or renovation of an apartment or house.
When it comes to behavior, Facebook analyzes about 15 categories - each entry, commentary, adding a photo, joining a group house, clicking on the post is analyzed.

Some feedback on the title: "Do you want Facebook to stop collecting data about you on other sites?" would have been more honest/accurate, though I was happy to see that you covered the behavioral analytics etc. in your article.
I'm not aware of any ways to prevent Facebook from gathering data about you if you continue to use the service.
