Introducing our very altruistic changes
With HF21 coming up which will change the economy and incentivise curation we have officially decided to start curating!
Wohoo, after 2 long years of just upvoting the best asskissers in our discord which provided no value, no traffic and barely any content on their autovotes and most have powered everything down and left we have now decided to generously delegate some almost worthless SP which we did nothing to help maintain it's value to another account so that people who do care about this platform will hopefully help us get out of it with something in the end!
That's not all, we strongly believe that manual curation is key to encourage better posts and engagement, we just figured this out and have decided to step up and be some of the first that are truly altruistic on this platform! I know what you may think, we're just doing that to come out better after the HF and hoping the community will forget our past, but that's not it at all guys because, well, it's just, uhm, we didn't realize it in time okay? No one told us. We will start adding value to the platform now though because let's face it, we can't even sell our Steem at any reasonable price even if we wanted to. Also did you guys know they're planning to changing the rewards into 50/50? So there's no point for us to have our authors send us back the post rewards through exchanges and also there's something about a curve which may give us even more rewards if we're good at curating? But yeah of course we don't care about that this is for the good of the platform you guys!
Now let's bid bot this shit up so everyone knows we the good guys!
In all seriousness though, I'm glad the HF is starting to get people to change their ways, it hasn't been rocket science that altruism doesn't work and we need an economic system that encourages content discovery and those being good at it to get rewarded more. Just imagine though how many more users and how much better distributed stake we could've had if more of the bigger accounts had even attempted to curate or distribute to worthy authors, we would've easily had 2-5x more active accounts and been ready to blast off into the new bull run possibly in 2020 or whenever people realize the cancer facebook or golos in english is about to launch.
So to all those that endangered and didn't help retention through the past years at all because "others are earning so much more ROI than me", well, nothing really, most users will probably forget and not care later anyway so congratulations, you got away with it and have way more stake than those that tried. I guess Steem really is that strong that no matter how much of a hit the price takes, how much abuse goes on on the platform for several years, it doesn't take a lot for it to survive and keep on improving cause let's face it, it can't get much worse than what we got now anyway in terms of incentives to do what the chain was supposed to in the very beginning.

I see your point. There were lots of things happening over there which I'm not going to get into.
But yeah, I get your point.
I'm hoping for improvement, and I was hoping they would get some support from doing the right things NOW.
Anyway, great rant.
We could play blame games, but at least their stake was working for some instead of totally going into the bidbots.
I like and respect you and have no desire to fight with you. Let's support a better future and NewSteem.
!dramatoken
Not trying to start a fight, there will be many switching it up now which is a good thing, but there literally are no consequences to what people have done while jeopardizing our chain so all I have is making sarcastic posts like these pointing things out. Wasn't just directed at aidsactly, I've seen many already change their ways in preparation for the HF. Which again, is a good thing, but some will remember even if that means nothing in the decentralized world and I'm fine with that.
I did get a bit triggered they just stole someone's photo tho, lol.
Well thanks captain hindsight, good thing you showed up just in time.
Just joking, and point taken, and thanks for the rant, we appreciate some good banter.
Yes, we changing things up it's been long overdue, but we aren't claiming to be making massive altruistic changes, apart from the curation delegation.

What I've been telling all the whales for 3 years is there are consequences... The price. He has 700k Steem at the same value as you and I do.
The idea they don't have any motive to fight abuse is dumb.
Anyway, better late than never... Understand the triggered! Have a good night
I meant no consequences to adsactly specifically compared to the others, they were the ones losing out on ROI by attempting to do "good".
Yea lol. STEEM has literally the dumbest stakeholders in the world. They think things have no consequences while the price is tanking, and so is the value of their investment. It's absolutely unbelievable.
"Hey, let's use our huge upvotes to allocate massive amounts of STEEM tokens to those powering down and dumping them on the market!"
Lol.
They think like traders. The goal is to amass stake.
Any place that money is actually earned understands the goal is to raise the price of the asset, not hold the most.
Oh so snarky. I appreciate great snark.
Yes, I botted the post up because I want people to see they are doing things differently now. :)
Can't fix the past and no it isn't meant to be altruistic. It's meant to help sustain the Steem economy. Which is a win for all if it sets an example.

I trust you will do a good job curating, @whatsup.
Thank you. That is much appreciated.
Fool me once, ...........
fool me twice... can't get fooled again!
:P
I bought my steem a bit too soon, coulda had a lot more if I had waited a couple more months to buy. But I do got another bitcoin that Im cashing in for more rewards for the memehub platform.
I think the meme meritocracy that memehub is building will boost the appeal of steem to the average internet user, work as a solid onboarding mechanism providing an alternative to the crypto barrier for entry onto steem, and give the minnows who loves memes a way to start earning and building up their steem acct.
It appears to me that steem needs more projects that enables avg internet user access, as to then have a track that leads those uses to steem and the entire ecosystem. Watch our upcoming videos where I discuss our system design and how it uses this and other concepts.
What is the steem world coming to when the oldest circlejerks can no longer masturbate publicly?
Well actually they could have continued to do exactly what they were doing. We had about 3 weeks of conversations about how to move forward once they invited my input.
I think it says a lot that they made a choice, the stakeholder looked at all of my charts and graphs about the circle jerks and made a decision to change things.
I know you are being a sarcastic, but it wasn't the oldest circlejerk or even the best circle jerk many of those are still happening. :)
It wasn't even the most selfish use of stake.
It was an obvious circle jerk though... acknowledged. :)
Yeah, I welcome the change and it wasn't the worst by a fair way and, they did do something along the way. Is this #newsteem in action?
It is NewSteem in action!
Hello my friend @acidyo
I read your complete publication and it seems to me very interesting content..
I would like to say that I’m agree with you in what you are describing and why you are disappointed.
I congratulate you because you are taking an amazing decision, I’m sure and I strongly believe that manual curation is key to encourage better posts and engagement.
In this point you are very correct.. I always try to read and comment if I find out something interesting and also upvote with a 100% ... I’m trying to help to this amazing community of Steem but it is a little difficult for me because I don’t have enough SP to support more people here.. also I gave some people some Steem showing them my small support, that’s another form to help this community.
I have delegated more than 2k SP, I use auto bots and get some rewards every day. But for this I don’t have engagement... I have a job and that’s the reason I use bot a little. I Always try to let a value comment.
My job here on Steemit is writing about Meditation or sometimes about Psychology or Motivation.. And post something once a week..
I hope to see you in my next publication, feel free to visit my profile if you find out something interesting, well, feel like at home and let me a comment, you can criticize with a positive or negative comment to help those people who visit and read my content and comments as well..
Have a great time..!!
Yours, Edgar..!!

If you tag 'you' first it will make F U C K a discription instead of an action which I believe is more appropriate given your delightful rant =)

They should just all undelegate from the other bid bots and delegate to ocd!
Lovely tags btw :^)
The only way I'm leaving is if Steem dies and I don't see that happening in the near future... I don't have irl friends and I just fill the void with discord steem chats and discord steem radio programs lol... that got sad real fast... please don't leave me alone.
They aren't delegating to any bidbots.
In fact they just created an account and added a huge amount of SP for curation related work.
Previously they had a blog that had gone a bit stale and some voting arrangements.
Everything is being upgraded and looked at and there is more to the story than the HF.
Now that's some refreshing real talk. To reciprocate this energy, I offer my drum cover of Bulls On Parade by Rage Against The Machine as a befitting backing track. Enjoy.
