Meet my friends, this is how we bond, so cool, right?
I know some of you are curious what we are eating there in the picture...
I'll tell you now, it is "Balut" or in other words, "Fertilized Duck Egg". It is prepared by boiling a developing duck embryo alive inside the eggshell. Poor little duck!
This is a street food that is traditionally eat by some of the Southern Asian countries.
It is popular and can be seen mostly at night on the street. It maybe not good on your sight, but let's take a look the other views. It is normally consumed during night time before bet time. It is perfect with beer. It is more likely delicious when you consume it with a mixture of vinegar, garlic, chili and salt. I assure you, when you eat it the first time, it may be strange, but delicious. Balut offers a perfect balance of flavors and texture.
As far as the method of eating a Balut is concerned, it contains a broth that surrounds the boiled embryo. This broth is first sipped out of the shell.
Once the broth is sipped, the shell is then peeled and the chick and the yolk are then eaten.
Yucky? Oh, don't belittle this wonder egg.
Here are the reasons why you should eat it, one serving of Balut contains :
188 calories. Calories help the boost its energy. And this energy is consumed during working of the bodies, to our cells to keep it alive and to the functioning of our internal organs.
It has proteins which are significant building blocks in repairing and building the tissues of our body and other parts of our body like the bones, muscles, skin, blood and cartilages.
It has 2 milligrams of Iron. Iron helps the circulation of our blood.
