I am always thinking about ideas especially about making a living whilst living in Bulgaria, it's hard I confess when you are trying to make a living online, and when you are not fluent in the language it's tougher still. @ravijojla and I have discussed this problem at length for a long long time, thinking of a product that would cost little to make, that could produce a large enough quanity of stock and then be able to prepare, and ship it worldwide.

Then I had a thought and we turned it into a plan.

Let me introduce you to a business created by @ravijojla and I welcome to Balkan Candle.

Thats right we are going into the candle making business, we are very excited about this future prospect and have discussed in depth about why we are doing this, what it can do as a business for us and the local community.

We discovered that where we live the candle varieties are low, and there is not much variation so for instance I love pillar candles, but they are extremely hard to come across. At the same time I love Yankee Candles, but they are very expensive here, so we wondered if we could enter the market, producing low cost candles with individual scents.

I mean everyone loves candles right, not only are they used for the pleasure of the scents and the ambience of the room but in some cases, especially where I live they are more necessary than ever before when we have as many regular power cuts.

We have found a supplier for our candles

And we will be going in to production very soon which we have found some amazing scents such at chocolate orange, fresh linen, mulled wine, red hot cinnamon and many more to come, we would hope and love to do custom scents also in the future but we don't wish to get ahead.

The plan

We plan at the beginning to make 12 handmade candles each around about 100ml of wax with four scents, that will be available for shipping world wide if we get the interest, its ok having a product but what we need is customers. Are you a candle person, do you see yourself helping us in our mission. We would like to keep our making cost as low as possible so that we do not make our retail cost unnecessarily high, and then thereA is shipping to take into account also.

Should we sell the 12 quickly enough we will increase our production in the hope what we make we use the profit to turn over again and produce another rage and add to the range each time.

Where to we hope to be in a year.

We would hope that this venture would be enough to start to put our beautiful city on the Map in Bulgaria, that we would hope to be able to open a flagship store right here, so that visitors can come and try the ranges, maybe make their own custom candles, and that we would be able to employ some people to sell the ranges and help with the candle productions in the future. We would also have a website where people can purchase the ready made candles available to them.

Our candles will be a bespoke design with a mind to the Balkan area, to give a true sense of eastern europe its amazing landscapes and cultures.

Of course we will in future be offering candles for weddings, birth announcements, christenings, anniversaries, halloween and christmas.

We have so many ideas which we want to add to the range including scents for seasons so that you can order repeat scents or new scents if you wish to.
