Why is America such a evil country

Serious question folks.
Why is it that America is bent on overthrowing the leadership of and murdering millions of people in countries like Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Somalia instead of making friends with them and helping their countries (so they can lead by example instead of fear)?
I would really like to know because it is a seriously fucked up and evil thing to do, yet the American population proclaim to be compassionate religious types.

We are talking about millions of innocent souls murdered here, not the handful killed by terrorists (the 'bad'? guys). America has murdered more human beings in the last 20 years than all the other nations (and other terrorists) put together. How can they not be the most evil entity in the world today?
