Ok my lady Steemates time to get schooled. I've always felt this was an unbalanced practice and I'm glad we have someone who perfectly articulates it. Give Matthew a like on his YouTube page if you wish, I did.

I used to watch his videos..I think he uses his charm very well to promote himself. And the question reminds me of Chris Rock with one of his stand-ups, the difference between men and women.
You definitely have to be charming in a room full of women. :)

I've always felt that a guy should pay the first few dates (although I also always offer). It says something about his willingness to make a woman feel as she is (and there are exceptions to that: like if he isn't doing so hot at work at the moment).
But every time I watch this video, I cringe when she says 4-5 months. At one month, I'm already as concerned about my partners finances as I am my own. Not that I'm trying to control it, but I am aware of it and doing what I can to keep him from always paying for everything.
