This hack happened back in July and your title suggests ETH has just been stolen, if you want to do an article on it then fine but the title is going to scare some people. But then you just turn it into an attack on crypto currency in general and a very bizarre one at that, whilst there are vulnerabilities with third parties that hold your coins, it is inaccurate to state that "it is pretty much a totally unregulated speculative bubble riddled with security holes" It is probably hard to comprehend but these losses you state are dwarfed by the fraud and losses that happen in our current systems.
