will the ETH flippening happen on 2018?
Flippening is a the name that is attached to the scenario in which ethereum and its market cap of 80 billion dollars currently will bypass bitcoin 140 bilion $ marketcap and will become number one crypto currency. Is this really that far fetched? I dont think so, and heres why:
Ethereum has much faster transactions then bitcoin and people are using it as a currency even though it was designed for smart contracts.
Ethereum has much lower transaction fee then bitcoin.
Ethereum has smart contracts which are mostly used for raising funds for ICOs with the famous erc-20 token. These contracts really makes ethereum smart and has the ability for example to automatically refund people money if the ICO reached its cap for investments.
The same ICOs makes ethereum a much stronger coin as people not only buying it just to hodl it and hope it will appreciate in value but rather as requirement to enter a given ICO . If you want to buy an erc-20 token you have to deposit ether to an erc-20 complaint wallet like "myetherwallet" or "metamask" If you dont do it this way you will not get your tokens. This is is enough reason to hodl ethereum :)
The Casper proof-of-stake update for ethereum which will soon be released will allow whales with a minimum of 1000 ether to stake them and earn about 8% per quarter. of course there will be staking pool which will allow staking for lower amounts. This will surely make ether much stronger and people will prefer to hold it instead of bitcoin with no restrictions and earn intrest as a bonus like NEO is doing. why not really?
Crypyo Maniac out
Yes. At some point it will be followed by the Steem flippening.
While it is quite possible that Flippening may happen one day, i dont believe it can happen any time soon. Maybe in 2020+
I do believe in Ethereum and have most of my money in it but I doubt "the flippening" will happen. At least not this year.
NEO will overtake ETH instead :)
yeah, and preferably with price for NEO similar to ETH price at its peak 🤪
I really do not see any situation in the next year that any coin will bypass Bitcoin market cap
Bitcoin was here first and is the must stable coin also to get 99% of the other coins you must to have bitcoin first
I don't know for sure. Ethereum will benefit a lot of all the different blockchain solutions that will ran on it.
Not all of them will be creating their own token, which increase the need for Ethereum. I went to a blockchain conference yesterday and 3 out of the 4 demos are running on Ethereum! So it could happen but just maybe not this year!
You can call me old fashion but i think BTC is the father of all coins and will stay in first place market cap for long time
Sure BTC have a lot of bad things which working better in other coins but as long must to the use of alts is for trading / investment and not on day to day use BTC will stay first
Rates are way too low for way too long. Now comes the timing for reaping. I know this is a meme, but this is good for Bitcoin lol
ETH is rumored to be used soon as alternative currency in videogames. Unless that happens or it becomes much more widespread in use, it's impossible to pass BTC.
Nice post thanks for sharing keep it up
Good work.
I think Ethereum have the potential to be No 1 ranked crypto currency. But the battle will be tough. 2018 will be the deciding year whether it will surpass Bitcoin or not.
I agree with you, but you have to get a great deal of support from the international banks to make it stronger than the fabrication, thank you for this explanation
The challenge for Ethereum is that they are to a large measure not in control of their own fate. Lots of 3rd parties need to make it relevant. There are lot trying but so far only great ideas with no demonstrated use cases. It will be interesting to see where it all goes. If something great can happen this year they have a shot. In the meantime people still equate crypt as bitcoin and it has a huge advantage. But they need to decide what they truly are a currency or a store of value and bitcoin will also face the toughest regulations. Let's hope for the best for both.
