Introduction: Ethereum Dapps and ICO (initial coin offer)

in #ethereum7 years ago

Company can organize startup trough so called ICO (initial coin offer). Company release token at Ethereum blockchain and that coin represent companies share. Than they offer lower price per share to those who invest in project at the beginning, so called "early birds". Investors who funded the project can sell it later when the project is finished and the token go live. They can sell it at exchanges and there are two factors that define the price of token (share):
Price is determine by the basic economic rule of supply and demands, and second factor that define the price is the idea that hides behind the project. If the idea of the project is good there will be a lot of investors and otherwise shares will probably hit the floor. ICO is great alternative to traditional venture capital.
Ethereum users can use Ethereum in many ways, there are a lot of DApps that are currently made at the top of Ethereum Blockchain, and they all have one common characteristic when you use them there is no middleman. A lot of new DApps have borned everyday. lets mention: decentralized insurance, or a decentralized job marketplace EthLance, decentralized betting platforms etc. The good side of using these applications is that there is no middleman so they are cheaper for using than traditional applications. All you need to pay is "gas" , a small portion of Ethers that you give to nodes as a reward for maintaining the Ethereum network.
