Project Presentation
Myco started in 2015 as a one man experimental rock project. After our initial single release "Myceliated" which was released digitally for free with a bitcoin QR code on the coverart, Myco developed into a 5 man project and began playing live shows.
In December 2016, we released our debut EP up for sale exclusively on the first decentralized marketplace OpenBazaar. The artist who did the artwork for the EP, Arnaud Polette @apolette, was also paid in bitcoin for his contribution. This release is now available on all major platforms.
Now, we are integrating with Ethereum and SingularDTV to release our own cryptocurrency 'MycoCoin' (Myco).
MycoCoin
This projected was started with a goal in mind, Decentralization. Myco is the scientific name for fungi, and fungi are decentralized organisms that live underground and form complex networks not just with fungus but with plants as well. They have been called "Natures Internet". Whether intentional or not humans have essentially mimicked nature when creating the internet and now what some would consider the internet 3.0, cryptocurrency. These decentralized fungal networks are extremely efficient and humanity mimicking these systems is a natural evolution. Not only are decentralized systems more efficient but they also have the capability of freeing humanity in many ways and we believe can give us ultimate freedom by eliminating the archaic, violent, centralized authority of government. This token launch will further liberate us as musicians and build a community and an investment opportunity to people and fans worldwide. Cryptocurrency can liberate humanity in many ways and this is just one example. MycoCoin holders will benefit from ETH rewards allowing us to share our royalties and revenue with them.
There will be many exciting features that we will explore that will benefit all of those who hold MycoCoins and we will be updating everyone periodically on these features/rewards.
Initial Launch
The Initial MycoCoin(Myco) launch will be 5,000,000 (Myco). The funds raised in this initial launch will be used to record and release 2 singles and a full length album as well as merchandise and music videos.
Second Launch
The second launch of MycoCoin(Myco) will happen in Q2 or Q3 2018 and will be 25,000,000(25%) of the supply. The funds for this launch will be used for touring, marketing, merchandise and more releases. Once again all releases will be exclusively released on EtherVision.

Are you the first band to do something like this?
A dj known as Gramatik was the first to do it and he used tokit as well... and there's been some other musicians since. We are the first american artist/band to do so and the first psychedelic band. We definitely were the first band to put a bitcoin qr code on a release though when we released "Myceliated" in 2015 which is essentially about decentralization and psychedelics. We are trying to start a Crypto-psychedelic revolution.
Edit: Just realized I'm commenting on my personal steemit account instead of the band account... but oh well lol. I'm the founder of the project.

interesting idea... a partnership with the most famous mycologist sounds like a great idea. Not sure atm how that would work though haha
