The Selloff has begun - Graphic cards on sale, or rather on dumpsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #ethereum2 years ago

Just stumbled over current graphic card prices, the big selloff has begun. Miners exiting business ~3 weeks before the ETH "merge" from PoW to PoS. Unlikely someone will buy the old cards, but it's good news for gamers as also new cards will get cheaper and become available.

Loads of electronic garbage coming our way. Maybe some RX580 for 20$ still represent some opportunity to mine ETC in the future, but I'd not throw any money at this in the moment.

More important will be rising electricity prices in the western world which will be the nail in the coffin for mining unless you have solar panels or other cheap/free energy sources.

Interesting development nevertheless and we have to see if even that announced ETHW goes life or it will just all become a part of history. ETC will continue to exist but there is no usecase at all for it.

Time will tell. Stay tuned :)

Dear @madmac

I've noticed that you're delegating your Steem Power to coin-doubler and I decided to reach out to you with a warning.

Several days ago, one of Steem witnesses published warning about this user and you may consider it worth checking out:
https://steemit.com/hive-185836/@xpilar/coin-double-is-a-scammer-account-have-you-delegated-sp-to-that-account

Perhaps it's best to avoid delegating to coin-double. I have my own doubts if this account is not owned by one of HIVE witnesses and it really seem that they are milking steem. At least, that is my impression.

Yours, Piotr
