New Ethereum mining rig

in #ethereum7 years ago

I've started mining Ethereum a month ago and got to thinking that most rigs are built with the GPUs all sitting next to each other, blowing hot air from one to the next.

Could there be a better way??

Introducing a new kind of mining rig, the 'TOWER MINER'. The idea is simple, get a CNC router to cut out all the parts for the tower, glue it all together and then put all hardware in the box.

So now it's time to put all the cables together and start mining. I have the system working but need to make a few each extension cables for power to the GPUs before I can get it all wired up. Update coming soon...

The question is, how many can you build in a week? MORE MINING!

One million! Now find me some GPUs

Nice work! Would love to see a tutorial on how to technically mine Ethereum :)

This will make a good post, thanks for the idea. I've kind of just followed a bunch of different videos and tutorials and now have one rig mining on windows and one running ethOS(a linux based system).

Where are you getting PCI-E riser cables and PSU cables long enough to have that much space between GPUs?

Good question. I have a part time job making control panels for fire truck water pumps and so have a machine that cuts, strips and twists wires. So I've been creating the cables myself which seems to be working so far. Then I just purchased USB cables that are a meter long to connect the risers.

Nice! :) Hopefully it all works when put together. :)
