I always tell my two Daughters to never go out of their way to hurt others and to always err on the side of generosity... but never be stupid about it. When needed, always stand up for yourself and never be a doormatt!
That is great advise. My dad tought me and my sister similar things. He brought us up to be kind, but to also fend for ourselves. Being ( financially) in-depended helps with both. Thank you for being kind and strong at the same time.
