January is usually a bearish month for Crypto. To reflect on Haejin's mention of 7-8k buy in range for BTC. It may be a flash drop to that price area. In order to catch these drops near those ranges you need to set alerts or be solely dedicated to trading. We have to account for CME futures contracts expiring today as well. Historically that plays a decent role in pricing of BTC. And again, if prices do reach 7-8k, which technically it should, then it'll only be for a quick moment.
Basically on the rise as people don't trust in bitcoin right now (sheer paranoia, but it did drop below 10k and if it does again, 8.8k or so are likely). So ETH is the best bet besides XLM (Stellar) which is being more and more used by IBM and will be part of some more upcoming platforms.
It holds up extremely well and is rising, especially compared to Ripple, which has similar characteristics but is an unloved coin and still down in the garage, like Bitcoin. There's ADA and IOTA, but I think I'll be watching Stellar and ETH the most these next days.
True, ETH and Stellar are best bets with a few other innovative followers - that's what will make this year ! Ripple has its place, but remember how it sat around $0.20 forever, may happen again - not that I expect it. People need to get ahold of their bitcoin fears, Bitcoin is still the bull it was, and if the little investors don't get their faith back in time, Wall Street will own it.
As long as it lasts, ETH and Stellar are my favorites.

Very nice! Ethereum network has cleaned up a lot recently, I have moved my ethereum around several times over the last couple weeks with transactions confirming within 10 minutes or faster, costing about 44 cents worth of ETH to transfer.
Ethereum is a big coin and still a top dog for a reason!
Everyone please stop feeding haejin money! if you say that ten coins will rise a day obviously your going to get a few hits in this lucrative market. He makes multiple posts a day accumulating over 300 dollars a post. We need to stop feeding him money because all he does is decimate the reward pool and doesnt care about steemit or steemians! Why does Haejin have such a huge following? Because he can draw triangles on charts? Steemit is not much different from the corporate promoted scams on Youtube. Because this is a Blockchain based platform I think it will get exposed in time. The public is still in control so I am not so sure.

44 cents worth of ETH? which exchange/wallet do you use? In all exchanges, I trade on, ask for 0.01 ETH for a transfer.
I use the coinomi wallet, with the recommended amount of transfer fee. This is a private wallet, so there is no external fee.
