Attacker has withdrawn all ETC from TheDAO on the Ethereum Classic blockchain
At June 17, 2016, the attacker found a loophole in The DAO's smart contract. With a new smart contract, the attacker was able to drain most of the funded ETH into a child DAO called "The Dark DAO".
The event created great turmoil in the Ethereum community, which forced the community to act within 28 days, otherwise the funds would potentially be lost. The community acted and with strong consensus and opted for a hard fork.
While most people were happy, others felt that the immutability of the network was compromised. Out of that philosophy, the Ethereum Classic project was born, a project that would keep the original blockchain alive.
The attack as it unfolded.

The Dark DAO address T0x304a554a310c7e546dfe434669c62820b7d83490 is, of course, empty on the forked chain as this was the whole point of the fork.
That statement is now true for the Ethereum classic chain (the unforked chain.)
This can be verified by checking the address http://gastracker.io/addr/0x304a554a310c7e546dfe434669c62820b7d83490
However, there is no useful block explorer currently available for Ethereum Classic so a more detail investigation where the funds have gone is up for developer to take a deeper look at.
#ethereum #eth #etc #cryptocurrency #immutability #fork
Does this prove that the Ethereum community made the right choice?
Ok the hacker got his part out. What about the remaining DAO tokens on the non-forked chain. I believe that's still 70% of the DAO tokens? What's going on with those? did the slock it team take it?
you can check my post on the subject

Does this prove that the Ethereum community made the right choice, what do you think?
Is ETC killing ETH?

Well from the site it said
"Gas Tracker current display only transactions from latest few thousand blocks. This number is growing, the service is still indexing the blockchain, be patient. Thank you."
So we will really be able to find out once the when blockchain is synced
The funds have gone to
