ETHConnect server down before ICO launch
Only mere moments before the official ICO launch of the "new bitconnect" platform, ETHConnect.net, the site is seeing some trouble. I created an account yesterday to see what the pricing of the ICO was and test the functionality of the site, before deciding whether or not to invest into this venture.
As I am already invested ($100) into ETHConnect's older brother BitConnect and without any issues at all, I decided to look into this new platform as an investment option. There were some things right off the bat that made me feel uneasy.
Oh sure, besides all the ridicule and bad publicity BitConnect receives (and anyone who admits to investing in), which really doesn't scare me anyway. I have been receiving payments on BitConnect practically everyday and the price of their coin BCC continues to grow with BTC, but I'm still not allowed to admit this publicly without getting harassed about it.
Back to ETHConnect....
The site is a Japanese site, so Engrish readers will have to switch over to the English version.
After creating an account I ventured over to the Wallet tab and was surprised that the Etherium counterpart to >BitConnect does not yet accept Etherium as payment for the ICO. That's pretty ironic!! They would only currently take >BTC.
The 2FA wouldn't link up immediately and took a few attempts. And of course, now it is down due to a server issue.
This doesn't mean that they ran with whatever crumbs they had received pre-ICO and surely they stand to make Millions of dollars within their first few months of operation. If their model follows the path of BitConnect, they stand to make a ton of money along with their investors. This could simply mean they are uploading the final version of the site before ICO launch. They are also now using Cloudflare, most likely to stop DDoS attacks to the site and maybe a little too late!
Plenty of people are skeptical of this platform and rightly so, Invest with caution, if even possible at this point.
