The developers of Ethereum to create a plan to accelerate the development of your Protocol

The developers of Ethereum making plans for the further development of the Protocol, including with the new updates, details of which were not previously disclosed and which is capable of extending the capabilities of the system in the short term.

The update is called "ethereum 1x" and can be activated in June 2019. At this month's Ethereum conference, in a conversation with CoinDesk, one of the developers, who wished to remain anonymous, said that the update is too early to discuss it publicly, while others refused to comment.

It focuses on the subject of closed meetings has been published on Github by developer of Ethereum virtual machine (EVM) by Greg Colvin on Friday. Commenting on the situation, the Ethereum client release Manager of Parity, Afri Shoedon, said that he did not know anything about the existence of this document and plans to implement the update.

One such meeting was attended by Ethereum Creator Vitalik Buterin, Consensys Systems founder Joseph Lubin, and other prominent community members, including lane Rettig, Peter siladyi, and Hudson Jameson.

According to available information, Ethereum developers may be forced to make changes to their public roadmap in order to implement possible improvements as soon as possible. The discussion focused on several changes that could be included in the Next Ethereum hard fork scheduled for June, and which were not previously considered as possible in 2019.

The update set includes the replacement of the underlying Ethereum virtual machine (EVM) to handle smart contract code. Also, “rental” payments for smart contracts can be integrated, designed to contain the growth of the Ethereum blockchain, which for full archive nodes is now about 1 TB. However, the last point, according to Buterin, still requires "significant processing".

The defining principle of the project, according to the published documentation, is"a sense of urgency". Although the update remains at an early stage, in the past developers have already discussed the possibility of replacing the EVM with eWASM, which will allow for faster and more optimized calculations.

The developers also stressed the importance of working in a closed environment during the meetings, which should allow them to move faster. Buterin, for his part, stands for publicity and claims that he is "uncomfortable with private institutional calls" and, in addition, he is "absolutely negative towards closed forums."

Choedon this Friday expressed frustration that the planning was carried out without public participation. "If you want to form a closed working group, this is normal and not meaningless, but you have to maintain transparency and maybe start with a public announcement," he said.

It is known that at least three working groups have been formed to date: to work on changes to the EVM, to discuss the cost of servicing smart contracts and to stimulate such changes.
